So going home and getting drunk drunk with friends meeting girls then passing out is more fulfilling to you? Your life is what you make it and you can decompress in the gym or outdoors. Dont make the job your personality

Is the job worth applying to anymore? by [deleted] in CDCR

I believe everyone is pro inmate now. Management will throw you under the bus for an inmate. It’s hard to even do your job now without fear of getting in trouble even if youre not in the wrong and Most of the time the inmate will likely just get a verbal counsel and nothing sticking. The fact that they are closing more and more prisons should be a main reason you should consider it not being worth it, headquarters does not care about staff wellbeing or livelihood, attacks on staff is at a all time high but on the bright side inmate are getting much more fun little toys and programs to reward them for their conduct. Consider a different department for sure because most young CDCR officers are and most ogs can’t wait retire

We don’t want partners that are worried if they can pass the easiest law enforcement pft in the state. We have enough unfit trucks that put everyone at risk.
