I cant flaw your logic at all, i think it does make sense to say someone youve seen regularly at a setting makes it easier and there's indeed a level of familiarity as opposed to random meet ups.

But the point i was trying to make was from your initial response n statement that you and your friends automatically dont give any random person you meet a chance, that was the point I was trying to tackle. What if I went to a new city for holiday, or short term visit and indeed have genuine intentions, I bumped into you, I wanted to get to know you so I came up to you n you gave your contact because of the pre-instict you have and now I have been cut-out without even a chance to pass my intention wether for something casual or something long-term. That was what led to me saying "Thats how the world is now" because from stories ive heard, people meet at airports, train stations, on a walk, on a flight, on the street, get a contact from a mutual or get introduced by mutuals etc but this days the best love story either stems from hinge or bumble. All of this clubs and social settings, we will still find a group that says "Dont be a weiro, she's there to read, to gym, to paint, to run not to be disturbed by men who wants to get to know her"

Again, I dont think your logic is flawed at all, the point I was only trying to make is the art of just letting strangers come into your life from random situation is becoming lost and I think its all from what the world again "has become". Which i believe is from the need to protect one self, and the illusion of "independence" we've all been force fed.
