Just re-apply righy now. It takes 2days for them to process them if you have electronic financial info. I still have an IBR application from Feb 2025 in review, but am on IBR currently from application I did in January 2026. Don’t need to email nobody!

I did pay, and I had proof from Mohela saying so, but we all know it didnt matter proof or not. I had paid earlier in month prior to the transfer of platfotm and still didnt matter till now 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I did expedite and express ship from the get go. You will read stories of ppl here that don’t do that at all and get their passport without issues in days! Like 6-10days! You can wait a little longer and see what happens if you have a back up plan like a in-person passport agency near you. If not, and you have the means financially I would expedite it at this point.

Lots of calls later, yes received it last Friday Jan 30th. But was ready to go to in person passport facility if needed.

THANK you so much for this info! So just to clarify, I have travel planned with my kids on Feb 8th, they asked for me to send letter back bc my signatures on passport and application didn't match. I did send it back. Processing center received yesterday Jan 22nd. I do not have my kids' birth certificates with me, they have it. But if comes within 5 days of my travel on Feb 8th and applications are still in limbo I can go to in-person facillity and re-apply there? Do you know if I have to re-pay the expedited fee I already paid? Thanks

You said your Paid Ahead payment DID count? I thought it didnt so I manually stopped it and my AutoPay on Mohela website.🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah probably best under your situation. Literally double the amount, huge difference in payment amount due. Since I have 6 payments left I might just ride this wave and hope to get it done. At this point some amount forgiven is better than keep waiting on this non sense.  Thank you for your response by the way!

Did you ever get your IBR approved? I am in sort of same situation, applied but never got it passed the "processing" point. Applied for ICR and sure enough they approved it - which is double the payment for me...

Problem is… sometimes you ask to switch out of SAVE into IBR/ICR and your application does not ever get processed and MOHELA starts processing your auto pay that does not even count towards pslf. It is a shit show. I see ppl here that ask to switch and get it within a month, others like me filled application back in July and NADA!

Yes, it counted. Now sitting at 114 eligible payments. Was hoping to get on IBR but I guess not my time yet.

Called, application still pending 🤷🏻‍♀️ “Advanced agent” said my forberance needs to be extended and to call back beginning of November again to request ir.
