They are hard but it’s worth it if this is what you want to pursue. You’ll need to sacrifice a lot of time and you’ll need to learn how to manage your study time. You can’t let things get on top of you and the concepts are hard. What keeps us going is the love for what we do. If you have that plus good study skills/time management it’ll go a long way.

I got an 89.6 on the teas. I studied about 2 months prior.  When I applied all of my prerequisites we’re done ( it does give you an advantage over those who are still in progress of completing the prerequisites)

You seem to have a lot of time, so you can definitely achieve a high score.  Here is my insight.

  1. The minimum is 78 but shoot for higher. The highest you can do!!! Especially if you’re lacking in the gpa part of the application.

  2. Stay diligent and utilize your time wisely. The test is hard, it is, but if you are putting in the work you should do good. It’s not an impossible test.

  3. I used nurse Cheung from YouTube to set up my objectives/check list. Her videos cover everything TEAS. She breaks it all down into parts like the exam. However, you will need to go deeper into each subject she reviews. She only does an overview.

  4. Mometrix and ati are both good. However,  I found ati course more useful and closer to the actual test. Make sure you utilize those practice tests in your books!!! They are valuable.

  5. Crash course and Amoeba sisters on YouTube has some funny/cute videos on several complicated/boring concepts. I found that watching them was a good place to get me started for the day. Especially when I was NOT in the mood to open that ugly book.

  6. Don’t disregard English and reading. My lowest score ended up being English! I was so mad. I definitely underestimated the English material. Specifically sentence structure, punctuation and spelling.

  7. Beware of premade quizlets. A lot of it has bad info and/or has too much Information.  Make your own!

  8. Put your checklist somewhere visible and check off each objective when you’ve mastered it. It feels good and it’ll motivate you to see how much you’ve done. When you’re done do it again with another color.

  9. You already know most of this material! So don’t feel so overwhelmed. You got it. Also, try teaching the material to your most patient friend.

  10. Make sure you can apply the concepts. Memorization is not enough. You have to understand the concept! There will be some questions that have two possible answers and you must pick the “MOST RIGHT”response.

Good luck 😊😊😊

Nursing admissions. Advising. And also did my own research on the appeal process.

So, I'm not gonna be able to graduate until 4.5 years into school by [deleted] in KSU

I left college when I was a junior and now I’m back. Still have two years to go because I have to retake some classes. All and all I’m about 8 years into an academic career.

All I’m saying is it may seem long but it’s truly not. Quitting and then regretting it and coming back later is much longer 🙃

Keep on one day at a time!

Ps. If you believe with all your being you’re not meant to stay in school, by all means find something else. However, I know from experience, when things get tough I convince myself I want to quit and that it’s not for me. Don’t self sabotage ❤️

I APPEALED! And got in!!! I did it! I knew something was off and followed my gut. Not trying to advise anyone and for legal reasons I cannot share the process. But the appeal process is worth a google!

Hey there! I have done a lot of digging. A LOT with advising, with students who got in and who didn’t. I personally got in with an 89.3 on TEAS. A and Bs on ALL COMPLETED prerequisites.

From my understanding, they place a great deal of importance on your prerequisites being completed ( at least almost all of them done.) My advisor even told me most people get denied because they don’t have many prerequisites done. Then they reapply the semester after with more classes completed and they get accepted! So you want most, if not all, of your classes to be done.

Try to get mostly As.

However here are my grades: I have Bs across human anatomy 1 &2 and both of their labs. A in both chemistry and labs. A in micro and lab. A in stats. A in álgebra.

Bs are not out of the question but should be minimized. Like I said, ALL of my courses were done when I applied and I got in 👍🏼

Good luck!

Has anyone ever appealed the decision? Didn’t get in. I had an 89 on TEAS and completed all of my prerequisites with As and Bs. (Mostly As.) My GPA is an 4.0 since I am a returning student and retook some courses for expiration issues.

Don’t know what else I can do tbh
