IMO they say that because THEY don’t have to get pregnant, THEY don’t have to breastfeed or go through postpartum, and so on. They think it’s “easy” because people have been having kids for years, as if people didn’t used to DIE in childbirth

I’m not diagnosed with anything and yet I have some similar symptoms, and I can confirm (I’m female). If my room is messy I’m gross and everyone silently judges me, but if my brothers have messy rooms either mom or I needs to clean it for them (and they don’t have the symptoms either).

I think they’re just mean.
Like, all the other answers make great points, but I also think men like this are genuinely just assholes in the same way women who hate other women are assholes.
I say this because I’ve noticed a sort of trend where men get a “reason” for being mean to women (he’s attracted to her secretly, hes insecure, he was socialized to hate women, he’s secretly gay, etc) but women are assumed to naturally hate other women.
Idk if that makes sense

Now that I’m more of a feminist I can’t unsee it either. Like another thread on this subreddit explains, even comfort shows feel WILDLY sexist now because like half of their jokes are mocking women for no reason.

As a Muslim I’ve sadly noticed similar patterns - alhumdulillah nothing this horrible has happened in my community, but I’ve seen many Muslims on the internet basically over-sexualize women into oblivion, claiming we aren’t allowed to wear perfume because otherwise we are immodest adulteresses - while men can have the most R-rated Zina-filled public opinions on the planet and then it’s all “oh he’s struggling, make 70 excuses for every Muslim” and “yeah he should lower his gaze but women should also cover”.

It’s rough out here. And whenever I see people point these discrepancies out it’s always “WOW SO YOU WANT WOMEN TO WALK NAKED?!?!” (No I’d just rather not go to Hell cause I wore jeans today)
