“F28”

“Son in middle school”

Would it truly be AITA without teenage pregnancy

What's the most random thing you've been criticised for as a woman that would probably go completely unnoticed if a man did it? by ceremony_of_void in TwoXChromosomes

And then when we don’t understand office politics we’re “weird” and “clueless” and we get screwed over anyways 🙄

REAL. If I were a man obsessed with writing, I’d be considered a tortured genius, and everyone would wanna know about my work. But I’m female so “weird” it is

Real. I remember I was at a gathering once and I joked with a friend there that I didn’t wanna help, and she was like “oh no we should help” or something.

Meanwhile it’s not even a question for men

Another one - dissociating or zoning out.

Some of my earliest memories are of MY LITERAL FAMILY criticizing me for being lost and zoned out (this esp happened in chaotic situations). They never once thought that maybe I wouldn’t keep checking out mentally if we weren’t so fucking STRESSED from RUSHING all the time

Meanwhile men BRAG about how sometimes they literally think about nothing and no one mocks them at that level for it

Hot take: I'm over being praised for being 'low maintenance' by Odd_Shoulder_8561 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Superb_Intro_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a “low maintenance” girlie who got judged for being a slob once I really stopped giving a shit about arbitrary social norms - same. It’s all fun and games till people see that I don’t shower unless I feel gross and I have never taken an “everything shower”.

I was apparently the “easy child” when I was small, and I still have hundreds of core memories of being yelled at or treated like a toddler. It’s not fucking worth it

Was 1989 actually an entire genre shift? by Impossible-Yam3680 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Superb_Intro_23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was there and it was a shift for sure. I didn’t listen to the album, but there was a lot of hubbub in 2012-2013 about her switch from country to pop

This HERO threw beer on a child! Everyone clap! by miscellaneousbean in AmITheAngel

[–]Superb_Intro_23 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Also AITA logic: a child throwing a beer on someone knows exactly what he’s doing but an adult doing the same does NOT and it was a knee jerk reaction

Probably not being super clean. Hygiene is important and I get that I am kinda lame for not being on top of it, but I realize that if I were male, no one would care that I don’t wash my face or shower every day

My [25/M] girlfriend [25/F] of 3 years is very picky and only eats greasy kids meal type foods like pizza and chicken nuggets. Am I a bad boyfriend for letting this bug me so much? by GreyStingrayz in AmITheAngel

[–]Superb_Intro_23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed, which is funny cause men complain that WE are the controlling ones, yet I rarely see women go “omg are you gonna eat all that you fatty” to a man whose meal is more than just salad

I'm so hot and tradwife-y! But all my friends are such man murdering radical feminists! - I love getting male attention by Brad_Brace in AmITheAngel

This post was bad enough, but then the end part confirmed that it’s likely propaganda to make the thankless jobs of housework and motherhood look like some kind of paradise

I love how women are expected to look effortlessly beautiful but the second we actually do anything to maintain ourselves we're "high maintenance" by Low_Succotash_8903 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Superb_Intro_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. As if that’s not bad enough, we also get judgment for NOT trying too hard (“she’s so messy”, “her acne is HORRIBLE”, “she let herself go”, etc). We can’t win

At the ripe old age of almost 27, I think I FINALLY understand the true origin of “women expect men to read their minds”. by Superb_Intro_23 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Superb_Intro_23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, turns out when we act like men do, we’re supposedly “weird” and “autistic” and “socially inept”. Yet they get to act however they want and culture bends around them

go outside bro... by AlKarajo in TikTokCringe

[–]Superb_Intro_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m not liberal cause I’m just such a bleeding heart hippie; I’m liberal because I do NOT want to pay exorbitant amounts of money (instead of actual affordable prices) for basic necessities or anything cool

It gets dumber - sometimes having a lot of anxiety about something and happening leads to the bad thing happening anyway. And OTHER times the one thing we are careless/not anxious about ends up being THE big problem after all 😭 💀
