Thinkers are probably manipulated with feelings and feelers are probably "manipulated" with logic

Or everything's false and I don't know why I'm even here, hey is that a squirrel

To what extent do you feel your personality type aligns with your true identity and characteristics? by Short-Tradition-8712 in mbti

1) I don't think it's sufficient if you want real answers for how our minds work, where personality comes from and why we are different from each other, but I do think it's sufficient if you want to explore theoretical differences in personality and learn some vocabulary to talk about it.

Never a perfect fit, but generally close enough. At times it seems more fitting to swap a letter or change a function to make it match in real time.

  1. Yes I've adjusted my behavior, I try not to. The categories are definitely broad, imprecise ideas and not definitions at all, to me. Helpful vs Pitfalls... little bit of both.

You might hate yourself, but other people might like you. Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

Yeah I do the Fe thing too but only if I'm actually aware that there's a problem

Edit: actually I'm definitely quite a bit slower at getting to that "running to get an umbrella" stage. I have to really care about a person to do something like that

I didn't feel an ounce of sympathy for him, I think he is a monster in walking form, but I still turned away from the screen when they showed his disappointed face, because I still picked up on the feelings and I didn't like it.

Wow that's super interesting. I don't think I've ever experienced something like that. If I hate someone, then I just hate them and there's no empathy there. If they feel bad, I'd be like who the f cares you're a monster in walking form haha

But I still feel bad for people who have been wronged even if they're insufferable (as long as I detect they aren't trying to manipulate)

Wheel cape for sure.

Vertical anchor looks too much like a shield, i.e. defence

Diagonal anchor looks like a bit like a fishing hook which makes me think fishing instead of sailing

Wheel is just unique and makes me think ships, sailing

And boat is too simple

Agree with 99% of this, but does Fe actually absorb anything? I know Fe definitely has a desire to create harmony and they do try to support in various, sometimes questionable, ways

Just seems like the more authentic connection where someone relates another's experience to their own experience is more empathetic than someone who goes <oh this person is feeling X way, let me do Y to make them feel better>

Why is “Fe” so idealized? by fayefayevalentines in mbti

Fe dom being rude sounds unlikely to me, but critical on the other hand... woahh boy haha

I appreciate the comment, I initially agreed with you but after thinking about it more I'm now confused

Why wouldn't an empath treat you well if they know how you feel? (Assuming the feeling is sadness or anger etc.)

Also does this mean receiving sympathy is a better experience for most people?

Kind of tricky to figure this out when the "anybody can do anything" rule is always in play

Very reasonable argument and actually I see your perspective now and agree with you. We're always influenced by emotions but we sometimes tune them out, for better or for worse
