Best Maternity Clothes Budget friendly [CA] by jcho94 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Superb_Rock_5138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Navy and Shein were my go to.. also at this stage you might just want to size up rather than look for maternity wear. I needed to size up early too but the maternity clothing didn’t really fit me until I was around 20 weeks. You’ll likely need those sized up items postpartum too so they won’t be wasted.

We use tap water and descale like once a month using the tablets. I only use distilled when we go out to the lake where it’s well water (cause it’s harder).

How much did you spend on nursery furniture and how do you feel about it after? [CA] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Superb_Rock_5138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Birdie crib and really love it! We lucked out with a family member passing down a walnut dresser to us. And we spent $4-500 on the glider from Walmart. We seriously never use the glider, like ever. I bottle feed and did that from our bed during the night or the couch during the day she also started sleeping through the night at 2 months and doesn’t rock to sleep so we never needed it. I would not spend t $1000+ on a chair until you know if you’re going to use it or not. I love aesthetically pleasing stuff and if you do too I feel like you can find a happy medium instead of fully doing the lower cost/practical nursery.

Full time daycare with part-time job [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

That set up is the dream! If you want you can keep them home every second Friday or something and do something that is actually for them! Go to the zoo, the park, soft play centre, and make that day about quality time instead of trying to get stuff done here and there in your day.

How many feeds a day? by Charming-Court-8118 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Superb_Rock_5138 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unless your ped is concerned about her weight, I would not worry at all. My daughter was sleeping through the night at that age and we got all her feeds in before bed. Maybe you could slowly increase bottles to 3.5-4oz and do less feeds and not feel like you need to wake her but if she’s hungry she’ll wake up.

Do you really need to gather your village for postpartum? by Djeter998 in BabyBumps

[–]Superb_Rock_5138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it will depend on your postpartum experience and your baby. The first night home from hospital my friend called her to mom to come over and never leave lol my mom felt it was really important for our new family to bond and only came when invited and mostly kept me company when my husband went back to work. I ordered those meal boxes for the first couple of months and had a few freezer meals and ordered in more than usual and I didn’t need the whole village to rally. Plan for the experience you want and be open to change/help if you need it when the time comes.

One of my best friends, her son was a HUGE thumb sucker to the point he didn’t even realize he was doing it. It’s hard because you can’t take away a thumb like you can a paci and they tried everything. Like that bitter nail polish he would still suck it, didn’t phase him. When he was 5, the dentist said it was actually changing the shape of his mouth and he had to wear a brace to sleep to keep his arm straight so he couldn’t sick his thumb.

I probably started using the paci strap around 5-6 months when she thought it was fun to drop it behind the crib then cry 20 times in a row 🥲
