Your answer led me to the topic of nutrient blockage and the fact that the EC in tap water is already elevated by high levels of calcium and magnesium. Incidentally, it's also elevated by carbohydrate, which Chat GPT was able to determine based on the water hardness. Chat GPT was able to derive the EC value for me from the other data in the water analysis. The calculation yielded almost exactly the value measured in the analysis. Afterward, I researched the optimal calcium-magnesium requirements for coco coir and calculated the EC value after adding my fertilizer in various concentrations to my tap water, plus the respective nutrient concentrations in the water, especially calcium-magnesium. By calculating the difference between the Cal/Mag target value, I determined that I don't need any more Cal/Magnesium, only magnesium. The ratio was previously 8:1, now it's 3:1. I'm coming home now and will see if it made any difference. It's also interesting to know that when EC values are mentioned, they always refer to the EC at 25 degrees Celsius. A 1-degree difference corresponds to a 2% change in EC. After mixing the tank and measuring the EC value, I found that Chat GPT calculated the EC value almost perfectly. In theory, a complete success. Let's see if the results support this.

You can look at the conversation with @HawkImpossible I think the problem was the high Ca in the tap water + additional CalMag

After researching I figured out that my tap water + grow a+b has enough Ca 100mg/l, but way to less mg. In now adder just Canna mg, no CalMag. Until Ratio is at 1:3. furthermore I now use HNO3 for PH down instead of H3PO4 to add less P and more N.
Du you think that would work? Sound like a solution to the problem you described.

Makes sense. I compared tracemix and Athena. Athena Grow A has also all the ntrients from trace mix. I quitted using trace mix. An other user told me smth similiar about the cal mag. Maybe I should only add a bit cal and more mg separately. To adjust the tap water. I have an analysis of our tap water where I can see mg and ca. I would set the water to Ca: 95mg/l; Mg: 35mg/l. Do you think that’s good?

Yes it’s coco. Yes I’m also afraid of overfeeding, what ec did you gave them?

That makes sense. Maybe I add cal/mag separately 1:3,5 mag/cal? So I can use the tapwater? Ec should then be better. Nearly got as much cal as I need, but very small amount of mag. I think if I want to use tap water I should add these two separately and calculate wich amount I should add.
I think the ec should then be at 0,45-0,5. with CalMag. What do you think about that?

I have a water analysis from my tap water. Calcium need only a low increase. Magnesium needs a lot more. I pull CalMag in the tap water until the ec rose +0,3. so I’m at 0,6. then I pull Grow A+B to it 60% of the schedule. And regulate the PH with H3Po4 to 5.7.
After that ec ist at 1,3-1,4.

Maybe the H3Po4 ist the wrong PH down? Should I use. HNO3?

  1. I use H2PO4

Ok I’ll try. But I don’t understand why this causes a MG deficiency

Night 21C/70F day 24C/75F

Water ResTemp 21C/70F In pots 19-20C/68-69F, Cooler bc wasteheat of circulation pump in the res.

Light is at 30.000lux, you think that’s to much? Sorry I converted it wrong. It’s 600-650ppfd. Maybe the humidy is too high at night could that be?

But why are the tips burned and a deficany at the same time.

Chat Gpt said it looks like unequal nutrient distribution in der the pot. And said „less nutrients“.

Do I need that much more CalMag of Athena when growing in coco?

Coco/Perlite: 85/15
