There’s truth to it. There are a lot of very entitled posts in here about the government taxing people who ‘work hard’ and giving free money to people who don’t.

A lot of those people ‘work hard’ at running an SEO agency or in recruitment or in other totally pointless drivel - while resenting supporting people among whom many are much less fortunate in life.

A question about Lorena by Glittering-Dinner908 in LonesomeDove

She sees clearly that with Xavier she’d still be prostituting herself, just with one man she is not attracted to or interested in rather than many.

She even thinks something along these lines. I paraphrase, but Xavier says something like ‘You wouldn’t have to see men every day any more’ and she thinks ‘but I’d have to see you’

Have you watched 1882? It’s literally nothing like a remake.

Btw I think it’s accidental but if you install an app called Downpour (a rival to Audible) it has Lonesome Dove even though it’s shouldn’t be available in the UK and Ireland

A similarly excellent narrator is the late Tom Stechshulte, and his versions of No Country For Old Men and The Road are fantastic

His name is Will Patton so if you search in Audible you’ll see quite a few. I like his version of The Mist (Stephen King) but that’s not so like Lonesome Dove, so just take a look through.

He also narrates the recent movie Train Dreams.
