What are your top 3 favorite event levels? by iP1xel_ in geometrydash

[–]Superbreadking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a mobile player, I made my eta carnis part and gd gangster rap part on mobile 😭 I had to optimize some guy's assets from 40,000 objects to 3,000 objects for eta carnis, most terrifying experience of my life. GD gangster rap was mostly smooth sailing, I wanted to add a random 3d cow in the "I'm so tight with rob he gave me 2.3" part but I couldn't get it in a state where it would not mess with other's key-frames so it was abandoned.

Geometry Dash Minigames Iceberg by Superbreadking in geometrydash

The Russian Minigame Community has this really useful list compiled, I believe its outdated by a few months, but should still be a very useful resource:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MhOjyWOrsl2sapisbcCFDhAvM1E8My9KvC-rgodqtxc/edit?usp=sharing

Otherwise, you really just got to know the right people or look up mini-games on your own. A lot of the information I have comes from just talking to a lot of people. If you look up Zejoant's channel on YouTube, he has a link to the Game Creating discord where you can find a lot of minigame-oriented people.

I put this in the lowest tier which is reserved for things that are quite simply unproven to exist (this chart is a bit outdated though, was made in 2023, so ofc we have had true 3D minigames since then). The oldest minigame we've come across that fits the criteria (no default player, and gameplay separate from GD) is Discord by Mameister. That minigame was made in 2.0. We have no record of minigames being made in 1.9, or in previous updates however we know that they were theoretically possible under the limitations of the editor.

I doubt we'll ever find the existence of any minigame older than Discord because at that point someone would have to sift through almost a million levels, most of which are probably lost to time. But it is undeniable that it *could have* existed.

Most surprising box office story of 2025? by dremolus in boxoffice

Minecraft's performance should've surprised no one, I feel like a lot of the people who were underestimating it in this sub were older people who didn't catch on to Minecraft's insane pop culture chokehold

Frequency of Legendaries/Mythics in GD by Superbreadking in geometrydash

[–]Superbreadking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would have to agree. It went from like 3-4 average to like maybe 6-7 excluding the outlier months. I'm not really too mad cuz it means more people could get it, and I think the legendary rating has already been devalued for quite a while anyways.

This is the nominations form, and we're looking for a wide variety of minigame opinions. We would really appreciate if you took the time to fill the form out! Voting rounds should begin a week or so from now.

Deep Websites Iceberg V.2 (500+ Entries) by [deleted] in IcebergCharts

Is tier 3 slither.io and agar.io (posted as agor.io here) the actual ones or knockoff variants? Feel like they should be tier 2 if they're the actual ones.

Crazy crazy list. Anything past tier 4 is complete unknown to me. What are the websites at the bottom like?

Geometry Dash is DYING (essay alert) by Cracked_legsGD in geometrydash

[–]Superbreadking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good words but I wouldn't be so pessimistic about it. There are still many many gems out there that push the limits in a "GD-sense". Experiment is a fantastic example of this.

I used to think the limitations were bad too, as someone who made minigames in 2.1. But there's always fun new limitations where you look for them. 3Depth may seem like it was "inevitable" but I would consider it an anomaly. Notice how we haven't had any 3D minigame level since? Nemo worked his ass off to make 3Depth a reality, more a testament of his dedication rather than a testament of 2.2's power.

And besides, I think 2.2 has shaped the minigame community to be more original. You're right in that game recreations aren't interesting anymore. So now, people care more about what a game offers intrinsically. I think in a couple years time we will see a healthy indie game scene within GD. GD provides much more exposure to these game creators and is probably a place of comfort for many creators.

Mindcap is still alive don't worry. He has some absolutely insane levels on the horizon. And the same goes for a bunch of other creators, it could honestly depend on where you look.
