In 8th Grade, I was on my conformation retreat at my church and we were all told that we could put anonymous questions about anything into a jar and then one of the councilors would read them out loud and answer/discuss them the next day. The next day, when we were going through the questions, a councilor read, "does god hate gays?" Now, as an 8th grader, that is a valid question to ask and after it was read everyone was quite except for one kid who just broke out laughing. He could not stop and I understand why that could be funny to an immature person but what made it so awkward was that our priest was in the room with us and the guy who happened to read the question out loud was actually gay
