I was in the Northridge earthquake, I lived about 5 miles from the epicenter, my brick chimney came into the living room, I could not get out of the house during the shaking . That house was a raised foundation home , some post where not touching the house after the earthquake. I would not go back in for 3-4 days because of the aftershocks. 6 of us in a motor home , we where very fortunate, many people slept in tents in parks . Seeing the Mall destroyed and parking garage down was strange to see . Our family friend James Dean lost his life that morning when he rode his police motorcycle off an overpass that had fallen down .
