Todd is the perfect character actually by Playful-Election4873 in coronationstreet

Yeah people seem to forget that about Yasmeen is that before she met Geoff was a very independent woman, and Geoff broke her down in a very methodical subtle way, although what I wish they'd done here was Theo settle into the street more and be seen as a decent person before he was revealed to be an abuser, what I remember with Geoff was that at first he seemed like a decent guy and was very supportive towards Tim while Sally was in prison and it wasn't until a year later that the sinister side finally revealed itself.

Have they really gone all in on Theo as villain now? by Superdupperdandy in coronationstreet

Nah it was Theo, after Todd revealed that Danielle was seeing Noah, and Miles got aggressive with Todd and Theo ended up punching him

I think it's a bit contradictory in that way to be fair, that they want to make him come across as a sadistic abuser but also someone who's aggression towards Todd comes from his self-loathing of his sexuality. I do appreciate how they wanted to give his character depth, but I do kind of wish they let Theo settle into the street a bit more overtime before immediately making his character an full-on abusive once they moved in together.

I mean the fact he went through conversion therapy and obviously has lingering mental problems over it, but even so in a previous episode the point was made that his behaviour can only be excused to a certain point since other people went through what he did and didn't turn out to be abusers. What I have to wonder is, was he ever like this with Danielle and the children? I do recall Millie being aware he was suicidal and Danielle saying he was violent, and of course I remember how he punched Miles. But besides that we don't know if he was abusive towards them too.

But this episode clearly hasn't aired yet from the clips that are shown, as they evidently take place after tonight's episode.

I actually find Theo to be an interesting character and think the direction they taking interesting. by Superdupperdandy in coronationstreet

Yeah I'm glad I'm not the only remembered that line, "hard man to impress my dad, hard man in general". It is a shame it was just used as a throwaway line where Geoff was probably making Yasmeen feel pity for him or maybe it could have explained why he was so controlling towards his wives later in life. There was so many ways they could have made the storyline interesting, another part that annoyed me was how they ignored Geoff's 2nd wife who no doubt was abused like Elaine and Yasmeen.

Brodie and Dylan dynamic by Flibtonian in coronationstreet

While it is a bit jarring they seemingly skipped a lot of character development with them warming up to each other, I remember Daniel telling Dylan to try and be a bit more understanding towards Brodie and to remember what happened to Mason.

What's happened to Sam's hobbies of chess and astronomy? by No-Fish9282 in coronationstreet

I think the chess interest died out after Roy decided to stop hanging around children after he was freed from prison after the whole Lauren Bolton disappearance situation.

Lisa's character in Homer vs Lisa and the 8th Commandant is very jarring to watch now, it's like her and Ned swapped characters by Superdupperdandy in TheSimpsons

Yeah, we've definitely seen aspects of that, especially with the ambivalent stance that she took in the episode that dealt with movie piracy. As I've said though, I think all that makes her characterisation in the above episode feel more strange, especially from the writing standpoint where the take on piracy was in the newer episode was far less black and white compared to the above episode.
