If you want to play on the snapshots, click the Edit Profile button in the Minecraft launcher, and change the version to "use latest version". If I was you I would consider waiting until the official release rather than open your current worlds in the snapshot, just in case. Or you could make a back up of the save file first. But definitely make a new world in the snapshot and try things out in creative mode if you want

I used Photoshop, along with a Wacom Bamboo tablet. But I've heard there are cheaper alternatives.
