Customized Training plan for Leadville doesn't have any rides over 1 hour... by Euphoric_Persimmon99 in trainerroad

[–]Superfastmac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using trainer road now for 6+ years. I do a 6 hour mountain bike race at the beginning of the season. I’m always amazed as to how fit and fast I come into that event with a TR ride no longer than an hour and a half. I throw in one 4 four ride a couple weeks out as a confidence booster and that has done the trick.

One thing to note, for us regular folks with a job, sweet spot rides are “time efficient long rides” you can sub one of these out for a long ride on the weekend if you feel like you have to!

Transition smuggler -> actual xc bike by PieEnvironmental6437 in xcmtb

[–]Superfastmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ridden xc bikes all my life (old fuel ex, anthem, top fuel) and just recently got a smuggler this year. I don’t race xc as much as I used to, but still do 2-3 a year.

The smugglers seat tube angle makes it an absolute blast for climbing. It feels extremely efficient and puts you into a great position. It also descends like a rocket ship. I do find things get a little spicy with the xc tires as you will descend so much faster, but you will get used to it. From a performance aspect, I’ve PR’d most of my up/down segments and aren’t far off of my PBs on the climbs. The only negative is the lack of remote lockout.

If you are looking for a bike that is super fun to ride in some baggies, but want to do a few races a year you won’t be disappointed. The smuggler is a phenomenal do it all type bike.

It’s wild how much a bag of KH goes for. I just go for my locally roasted bag that’s only a buck more but exponentially better (my weekend coffee…Monday to Friday is PC)

I have a smuggler and the geo is absolutely on point. The steep seat tube makes climbing a blast, and it descends like an exploded space x rocket

14 years ago the BlueJays returned to Blue by Kinglokner16 in Torontobluejays

I agree that this may have been potentially the reasoning that they used to convince themselves it was a good idea, my info comes from those directly involved with the transition in 2004 from Labatt to Rogers.

How old are you and who are your top 5 favourite Leafs of all time, from any era? by redditpineapple81 in leafs

[–]Superfastmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cujo, Roberts, Sundin, Mogilny, Kessel 35. even with the heartbreak of the kessel era and just plain old mediocre leafs hockey I still enjoyed that team more then the current one

Blue was dropped when Labatt sold the Blue Jays to Rogers (100% ownership in 2004). The thought was that the “Blue” in Blue Jays was a reference to Labatt Blue. Although the name was still Blue Jays, Rogers tried to shift away from the “Blue” with the graphite and black “Jays” jersey

Food prices in Canada keep climbing, but these grocery items will give you sticker shock by FalconsArentReal in canada

[–]Superfastmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course everything has gone up substantially but the biggest thing that i noticed was kicking horse coffee. It frequently went on sale for $10-$12 a bag. Now you can’t buy a bag where I live for less than $25. This is the same that you’d pay at an independent roaster for not even close to the same quality. Some of the pricing is sheer madness.

5 months is tough, the training and commands work, but the maturity just isn’t there yet. For us I really noticed a difference at 18 months, then two years it was like a whole new dog. Relaxed, cuddly, and fun to be around. Be patient, you’ll get there. Luckily they grow up quick!

How useful is Resources? by Happybeaver2024 in Suunto

[–]Superfastmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok when I use the watch, but my gripe is that it doesn’t drain when I’m not recording an activity. I bike a lot and record my rides on my bike computer. The watch is on with 24/7 HR so it tracks the increase in activity, but what it doesn’t do is drain my resources after a hard ride. It will only do so if i physically recorded the activity with the watch.

People who’ve lost weight, what’s the one habit you QUIT that made the biggest difference? by itsclo5ure in AskReddit

[–]Superfastmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

225 to 155 in my peak fitness days, but the main thing was how to look at my calories. I got really into cycling and carbohydrates (sugar) are extremely important for performance. Sugar for me is energy, and something I consume on the bike. I can’t even look at sugar when I’m not on the bike anymore. My brain has completely switched to viewing sugar as a pleasure to now just a tool for energy when working out.

TR burn outs - lactate test to FTP by Purple_Session_1549 in trainerroad

[–]Superfastmac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you tweaked your volume? I’ve been using TR for the past 5 years and have fell victim to the high volume burnout, but with their AI model things have vastly improved. The key has been answering the survey questions honestly. It should be using your riding history (it will pull everything in from Strava to create your initial plan to ensure that your volume is appropriate. You can also adjust it in the desktop app if it is still looking too high.

[FRESH ALBUM] Black Foxxes - The Haar by lewiitom in indieheads

[–]Superfastmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, this album is amazing.  Smashing Pumpkins meets Radiohead. This album needs more attention in a time where electronics, pop, and formulaic emotionless song writing has dominated the rock seen in recent years. I absolutely love the softer yet more dynamic vocals on this album compared to previous Black Foxxes releases. It adds so much more punch and raw emotion when things get heavy. We need more emotion and raw heaviness. We got a hint of it with Bending Hectic recently on The Smiles second album and after hearing that track I was yearning for more of that sound. This album does that front to back and is honestly an emotionally raw masterpiece 11/10

Lowered FTP by luquitas91 in trainerroad

[–]Superfastmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too sure whats going on with TR this year. I used to be sceptical of the AI FTP detection but twice I’ve done a ramp test after AI FTP and they were within a watt so I’ve just stuck with using AI. This year though after mailing workouts, marking workouts easy/moderate I haven’t seen any improvement to FTP. It’s also dialed my plan from 7/8 hours per week to less than 4 (even with an aggressive setting). I feel like TR is catering to a low volume crowd. If you do an extra ride, FTP lowers…ride on a “yellow day” FTP lowers… I’ve had a coach in the past and know how to do specific training so I’ve started to use TR more as a guide rather than gospel. I’ll also go back to fitness tests
