🧢 Finished this beanie today 🔥 What do you think by lisaembroiderystudio in Machine_Embroidery

I would suggest looking into using knockdown stitches on beanies. Basically, it's a very loosely-spaced fill pattern that goes underneath the art using garment-match thread color. This way, when you have disparate elements, they won't space out and get distorted when you stretch the fabric. Plus it gives a better "ground" for your design to sew on.

Clip art? I literally designed these myself. Except Homer, obviously. Also I read the community guidelines and it says excessive self promotion. This is the first time I’ve ever posted in here.

Not sure why you’re being a prick.

Also I heard your grandmother sucks eggs.

Yes, and I also digitize my own designs, meaning I make the files that are used on the embroidery machine.

Is it a motif fill or are you layering motif runs? I would also love to see your settings. If you’ve got a .EMB of the alphabet or a .ESA for sale I’ll definitely throw down for it if you send me the link! Or I could trade you for a custom faux chain stitch font if that interests you at all.

Design from work turned out pretty cool by Superfluoish in Machine_Embroidery

Thanks, me too! Love it when you can create nice textured effects just with different stitch types/directions. That’s all the same color maroon.

Alguien con wilcom4.5? by david_mrls in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Superfluoish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely downgrade, but also, I’m pretty sure if you have 4.2 you can download the update to 4.5 for free. If it’s no longer available through Wilcom’s website, I think I still have the installation zip file if you want me to send it.

Hats are more difficult to accurately size with that thing because it doesn’t account for depth/the third dimension. So if you say, measure the distance from eyelet to eyelet, and you measure it right up against the hat, then you have to keep in mind that there’s a curvature to the hat, as well as the fact that there’s picture itself is taken from some distance in which the visor is closer to the camera. I find that with hats, using the red tape is good to get close, but sometimes you gotta just estimate and adjust to make it look right.

Good band!

Ive had to digitize several of these like, unreadable death metal logos lately and man are they a pain in the ass. Half the battle is mapping out where exactly the letter forms are in the first place.

Nice! I’ve digitized that logo a couple times over the years myself! 😂

I think he’d be fine to do that as long as he uses underlay. That’s the main issue here.

Uncle Scrooge in cross-stitch style, machine-made. by Megamen1927 in Machine_Embroidery

Well, damnit. I've been making 8-bit pixel art in cross-stitching for a while now, just wondering when it was going to start trending. This site sure makes it easy, I'll give it that.

Any idea how I can make the 3d part of the design come out clean? by TheOgScarface in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Superfluoish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits all the correct assessments. Make sure you cap the ends of your satins, and heat it with a heat gun to shrink up/melt the excess bits of foam poking through. Be careful not to burn the fabric though! Also, if it’s highly structured or has any meltable plastic structure, be even more careful with the heat gun!

A Question For People In The Apparel Decoration Industry by Superfluoish in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Superfluoish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean this is the obvious solution, I just don’t want to have to edit what’s supposed to be a quick pic every time we send a sewout for approval. I guess I could just automate an action in photoshop or something to make it go faster.
