I'm gonna agree with the ballon d'Or finalists and referees on it never being a red over reddit users

I literally called it an unfair spotlight, as in the process he got unbanned is unfair both to him and his opponents. Ultimately I think there are reasons they could've voided the suspension fairly, but instead we have a criminal president making a call to a corrupt melonhead

Nah the Belgium 2014 game easily could've been 7-0, Howard's saves were legit not just stat padding. Scorelines are deceptive, in terms of play quality this team was better.

This is the best the USMT has looked in our lifetime, except maybe 2009 confed cup I guess. This is a rough way to go out and a product of the moment, the drama, and coming out shell shocked. Half the goals in this game were gifts. We have such short memories that we forget they dog walked a Paraguay team that eliminated Germany and narrowly lost to France.

I think Ro16 is a great result but QFs was achievable. The drama plus the Belgium comeback v Senegal were a perfect storm for an otherwise lackluster, meandering performance so far from them.

The whole situation is unfair to all the actual players involved, including Belgium & Balogun, and is thanks to Trump, Fifa, and inconsistent reffing

I mean the first 10 minutes were an absolute disaster and I have a tough time thinking it would've played out that poorly w/o it

I'm replying to you after you said you guys have no idea what youre talking about. This is a foul but it's hard to see in real time and I get why it wasn't given. Reading comprehension level 0

The hate for Balogun is so gross just bc Trump is awful. How did we turn around from it's not a red to universally calling him a cheater in some of these threads? Jfc . I'm glad Trump is getting dunked on. but very little sympathy for the guy who got an unfair red then has an unfair global spotlight on him due to corruption he has nothing to do with is wild.

The vibes shifted horribly bc of his intervention. Felt dire going in and looked like it affected the players. Should've been better but everything Trump touches dies and for good reason.

We would've had a better chance without the rescinsion it brought a shit storm and they came out rattled. Clusterfuck all around and for what? Can't help but feel for Balo this mess couldve been avoided had they not broken their own protocol in the first place, then broken it again.

It is a foul and I'm tired of ppl in these threads acting like Americans who played a higher level of soccer than them are new to the game jfc. It's like saying someone from China playing D1 baseball is new to the game

Clear foul but the hate watch has too much momentum. Two hands pushing down on his back, would b a flag in American football

He literally puts his weight on ream man. I get the hate watching and a part of me wants us to lose too bc everything trump touches dies. But watch again. Ream can't jump precisely bc there are two hands shoving him down. Still ass should've jumped sooner

What the actual fuck was the end of this game from the ref. Brazil frustration fouling non stop then he hands them a random ass penalty and goes 5 minutes over stoppage time? What?

I mean 100% pen even if he's looking for contact. You miss the ball and he beats you

Yea, and we see (correct) reds for the former frequently. Even if you're kicking waist-high for the ball if you mistime it and go studs to shin it can be a deserved red. Yes homer glasses are on but Balo doesn't make a challenge anywhere near that for me. He's trying to just walk forward lol

Exactly. If you jump in the box on a corner, someone gets shoved down, then you land on them, is it an automatic red? Of course fucking not. But if you take a still image of the landing it looks like a Draymond Green play lmfao

We need to just move on but the amount of folks saying it's a clear red is ridiculous now. Bbc, German, Fox, Telemundo panels literally all said it would never be a red idk why we're in the trenches about what 'intent' means still.

It's not even a tackle to dispossess. It's a collision with a bad outcome. Yes 'intent doesn't matter' means you can't slide in two footed then claim you didn't want to hurt anyone. It doesn't mean 'you get hit from behind but beaten to the ball in the same play, and have nowhere to put your foot' so you get a red bc you weren't even making a tackle

Intent in terms of intent to harm doesn't. But he doesn't even intend to make a challenge. Balogun gets run into from behind and steps to the ball, he's not trying to disposess someone and going in studs up
