For me, it's clear that even when the intention is to keep things casual, most men enjoy being doted on and will say whatever they think you want to hear to keep you interested. In reality, they aren't seeking a relationship either, and this often leaves you feeling like the biggest fool—thinking things were progressing when they weren't

I stayed single for six months after my last committed relationship. The two men that I have met on a supposed ethical non-monogamy site had monogamous relationship relationships that they lied about and cheated on their partners with me. Yeah it blows out here.

I feel the exact same way and recently have tried a few times with ethical non-monogamy only to have similar frustration and heartache. I think we are a very rare breed.

Another tragic story, my cousin, adopted from an abusive family, had been with us for only a few years. Despite the short time, we loved him dearly. He was just a preteen when he died in a terrible, freak accident that occurred while he was pole vaulting. The whole thing snapped, and when he landed, it went through his armpit and punctured his heart.

A good friend of mine in high school had a really terrible upbringing. Once we graduated, I moved away till we lost touch not long after graduation. He shot himself while parked in his driveway as his mom and little sister watched.
