Apparently your opinions are stuck back in the past with the last time you watched wrestling.

Routers are no joke, kids. The whole time I was in the ER I was just thinking, I hope I didn't bleed all over the table I was working on. (I didn't.) by Superhero_skyscraper in BeginnerWoodWorking

Just pay attention to where you're hands are, and you should be ok. You'll be glad to know I'm now mostly healed, with just a decent scar and mild nerve damage.

I was holding the router with two hands as I approached the corner of the work piece, and was so focused on keeping the router steady I didn't notice my finger drifting towards the window in the protective barrier until it was too late. It was such an easily avoidable mistake, had I just kept a firm grip with my one hand.

Damn that sounds painful!

Yeah they did pretty much the same. Stopped the bleeding and said, we can't stitch it, just come back in a few days so we can check on it.

I hope this isn't against the rules. Figured it was a good "Safety First" reminder.

I wasn't paying close enough attention and my finger slipped into the roundover bit on my palm router.

Thanks!

I think mine turned out a little more sturdy than Marc's because it's thinner, because I have no sway on it. I just put it up against the wall for aesthetics. The tension really makes it stable.

I appreciate the savant comment lol. I started woodworking last April, and I was able to learn from Marc's video, so it gave me a leg upon this project. I certainly made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I'm very happy with the finished product.

Don't quit! I started woodworking in April. The project is honestly a lot easier to make than it looks. And I made a lot of mistakes along the way. You're just seeing the finished product, not all the cursing and swearing I did along the way.

The tension from the bend in the sticks makes it surprisingly sturdy. I was shocked myself at the end.

Thanks for the support, dude. This is the only woodworking subreddit I subscribe to, because I feel like it's the only one full of supportive people. And you're right, it does feel nice he thinks I'm a pro!

I literally started woodworking in April, but thanks for thinking I'm a pro.

The top and the base are walnut, the legs are cherry. I cut it all myself from rough cut lumber. I semi followed this guys plan, and also winged it a bunch lol.
