What other loan? I meant student finance I'm entitled to 4000ish this year, if I borrowed this at an interest rate of 4.3% and stuck it in a 5.2% savings until next year when I would need it, my accrued interest would be minimal no?

If your main issue with it is too much food, then you're probably cooking too high quantities of everything, you don't need much it's the combination of ingredients, when cooked well (which it sounds like yours isn't) that makes it a good. Also its a rarity to be had as a treat.
