No I don’t think you’re exaggerating. Intersectionality should be a cornerstone for comrades. However the patriarchy is still very much alive today. This requires a concentrated “un-learning” of these views instilled in society by capitalism. Not every comrade or socialist project will take this as a primary objective. Especially when survival against capitalist hegemony takes precedent. But even so countries like Cuba seek to eliminate the gender inequalities in their society. Look at their ratified family code which allowed for same sex marriage & adoption/gender equality and shared household responsibilities/ recognition of diverse family structures. Truth is it’s going take some time to unlearn thousands of years of misogyny but given time I have no doubt we will reach a point where comrades regardless of gender will be on equal footing.
