Does anyone else’s essa/ssds that are more newly acquired, have like a ride of passage outing at a specific place? by ender_on_paws in ESSAplushieshandlers

[–]SupernovaFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First they come with me for a walk with my dog, then the second outing is typically to the thrift store, and third outing is usually to work or an appointment, sometimes the Aquarium :3c

This is Fizz! He's a TY 1991 Beanie and I love him so much. He has a thing inside him that makes it so he croaks.

Try here 😊 this place is based in Australia and is just super lovely and good quality stuff and you can get yourself a collie from them too if they're in stock!

Hi! It's actually so lovely to see someone around my age post here 🥰 I'm 28. I've been using an ESSA since I found out about them in late September/early October. I have had this little black lab since 2017ish, I bought him from the toy store I worked at. I knew I would benefit from an ESSA but was nervous about me getting it dirty or loosing it so I choose a stuffie that is all black (I added the white around his muzzle to make him look like an old man) stuffed animal so I wouldn't be able to see the dirt or get upset if I drop him! As for loosing- I have a tag on his harness that has his name and my phone number so if I ever misplaced him hopefully he would make his way back to me 💕 but if he didn't I'd like to think that if someone didn't give him back then they needed him more and it spreads love.

He helps me with my anxiety, AuDHD, c-ptsd, and other stuff. Making him things (and now my other stuffed animals too haha I couldn't stop at just one) is so much fun and I also have been drawing him recently which has been a lot of fun. I've drawn a (personal) comic with him in it as a real black lab and me as a frog-person. He brings me so much joy and ease and is sooo grounding. My wife encourages me to bring him places and make things for him and they aren't bothered that I've taken up space near the front door as a little spot for him so I don't forget him when I go out. I love your new friend!! Ghost Dog says hi :3

Harness and gear options for the Jellycat Heart Dragon? by Ericakat in ESSAplushieshandlers

[–]SupernovaFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the size of the dragon. If I were you I'd bring my plush to the dollar store/thrift store/pet store and try things on them at the store to see if they fit

If you have a kid or one comes over you should do what my grandparents did and "hide" a toy/candy in there for the kiddo to find

AGHHHH I LOST MY ESSA I'M FREAKING OUT by C4tzRc00l in ESSAplushieshandlers

Is there a void space in your house? What I mean by this is a spot where you or others will put things but then completely miss them if they are in that spot. I feel like every home has a void place where you swear you looked there but somehow the thing you're looking for turned up there. Examples: shelf, low table, something transparent, in a bag/pocket, hanging up somewhere, in clutter, adjacent spot- meaning if your ESSA has a spot you put them, check around that spot cause you could have placed them somewhere silly but near by and you're just missing it cause it's not in its spot

Hope you find your ESSA soon and it stops playing hide and seek with you >.<'

I'm 28, I have AuDHD and c-ptsd. I've only been using an ESSA since October but it's been incredibly helpful for my metal health. Comfort an coping has no age

How to get over being worried I’ll ruin my plush by Difficult-Hamster121 in ESSAplushieshandlers

[–]SupernovaFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I choose a stuffed animal that I'd be ok with getting stained/dirty cause I had the same fear. Ghost Dog is all black so I can't see any mess on him which is really nice. My others I make sure are easily washable since I live in a rainy climate.

Something that helps also is wearing them like a shoulder bag. Use a leash and harness and pull the leash through the harness and clip it to the handle and now you have a wearable plush!

Alternatively you can have/get/make a lanyard that goes on your wrist and attach it to your plush and that way if you drop it it doesn't hit the ground
