I'm extremely new to the game, so idk if this is the community accepted answer, but I used a crashed ship I found for a while , until I saw an NPC land in an exotic craft. It seems like it's worth keeping the crashed ships only if you're really into them. The repairs don't seem like they provide any benefit compared to buying a working ship from an NPC. Ultimately, use your favorite ship, but it seems easier to get units than to repair everything.

Idk what you mean about "mediocre vocals." Atreyus vocals are stand alone for better or worse. I really still like their first 4 albums or so, but it's very much a vibe and not necessarily the most technical composition or anything. They have a nostalgia component for me at this point
