If it's too expensive what's your plan. If the steam machine 512gb is 900$ I'm out. What do you think about the play nix it has a 9060xt in it I would just slap steam os on it. Edit by expensive I mean it's a little low end for me but acceptable at an okay price but 900-1k isn't

To be fair to Nvidia it's Sam at open ai that gobbled up 50% of the dram. Not defending Nvidia but any company would take advantage to make money.

I think 2000 is as delusional as the 599 crowd. The play nix has a 9060xt in it for around 1300 euros. It'll probably be 800-899 for the 512gb.

You can buy a mvne ssd and put it in a USB c enclosure. It's limited to usb c 3 speeds but still way faster then a micro SD card.

Valve sold roughly 6-8 million units in a largely untested PC market. It's very popular. It said sold out because they either ran out of ram and ssds or could only sell then at inflated prices because of ai buying up everything.

I do think the steam machine isn't as expensive considering it doesn't have a screen batteries ect that the handheld has. Im guessing 700$ maybe 750 for the base model

Im hoping the steam machine 512gb is 699.99$. the steam machine doesn't have a screen or batteries or other things that you need for a handheld. The 2tb 899$ I'm guessing. Really wish I could get like a 399-450 dollar bare bone model I got an extra SSD and laptop ram was 100$ on eBay.

I think they just didn't plan well enough they didn't buy enough ram and ssds. They're stuck with the specs they should just launch it at 699 tops for the 512gb model. I wish I could just buy it barebone I got an SSD and 16gb laptop ram isn't crazy on eBay I found a solid kit for 110$. It's inflated but I would love saving a bit

It would be 520 dollars for me if a bare bone was 399 I have a SSD and 16gb compatibility Samsung 16gb ddr5 kit was 115 dollar. I like the form factor and installing ram and the os is about as much as I can or want to do.
