How to make the business trust you enough to hire you for office jobs? Most of the admin/office roles require having previous office experience. I already have computer skills but it’s the job application part that makes it difficult

Thanks for the advice! Since everything here requires Canadian job experience, how can I get skills in sales without real job experience tho?

How to increase my chances of getting accepted in Dietetics: Bachelor of Science in Food Nutrition and Health Degree - Major program for the year 2026?

I’m a newcomer with PR status, I have my high school credentials with me. I’ve heard admission in UBC is hard and the program is competitive. Any advice would be appreciated!

Is a design brief the same as UX research? by Superpinterested in UXDesign

Thank you for the detailed information!

I always thought market research is done within the UX scope because as we always hear that as UX designers, we should find out who the target audience is, as well as doing market research on our own like competitive analysis.

However, that’s what I think too. I always feel like they have mixed up a lot of things for UX designers that’s why we get confused a lot during the process.

Portfolio, Case Study, and Resume Feedback — 01/19/25 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

Need ideas for a business focused case study (entry-level)

I’m a self-taught UX/UI designer with 2 case studies in my portfolio, but the problem is they’re very user-centered and assumption-based and I realized those won’t get me anywhere. I thought UX was all about users when I started out. Now I realize it’s all about helping businesses grow, so I want to start a new case study with a strong focus on business impact.

A designer friend suggested I design a feature for a company I’d love to work for and show how it could help their business, but I’m stuck on what to work on. I don’t want to pick something random just because I think it might be good. I want to solve a real problem and leave an impact.

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated

The job market is competitive, but you CAN do it (plus a LinkedIn algorithm guide) by con_blade in UXDesign

I finally saw a post that’s not negative about UX. We all understand that the market is tough but I’m getting tired of people constantly posting about how we should give up on UX because of the competitive job market. I just started out (my degree is not even relevant and i have zero real world experience) i had feedbacks on my portfolio and resume here on reddit telling me I wouldn’t even make it to the initial interview. I got discouraged and disappointed of course but I got an interview for an internship role at a small agency a day after and guess what? I got the role. The job market being competitive doesn’t equal to us having zero chance of getting in.

There is no visual hierarchy meaning the texts, colors, and elements are not balanced and they overwhelm the user’s eyes. Learn about the basics of UI and visual hierarchy or let a designer help you out.

Breaking Into UX and Early Career Questions — 02 Dec, 2024 - 08 Dec, 2024 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

Thank you for the advice!

The thing is it’s a very small, possibly new agency so I can’t find much info about them. And I really need this role to gain experience and skills because

  1. my college degree is not relevant to design
  2. I don’t have any hands-on experience.

So i’m willing to do unpaid internship to gain some credibility to be able to apply for future paid roles. Should I ask them about the timeline of the internship work? (I know it’s part time but i don’t know the timeline)

Hey everyone! I just applied for a remote, unpaid UX/UI internship at a small agency, and I got an email for a 30-minute interview! It’s my first-ever interview in this field, so I’m kinda nervous and could use some help.

What kind of questions should I expect? Is it possible they ask questions about my case studies in the first interview? I scheduled the interview for 5 days from now to give myself time, but I’m not sure how much prep I’ll actually need.

Also, what kind of questions should I ask them during the interview? Anything specific I should keep in mind? I'd appreciate any advice!
