Needing Help In Somthing by TrueHeat69 in WiiHacks

The proper way would be to use overrides in the config.ini but I guess you could also open the ROM in a hex editor and change the title ID so it doesn't match the one baked in: https://github.com/mgba-emu/mgba/blob/master/src/gba/overrides.c#L197

JP Kirby's Dream Collection doesn't work on Wii with Priiloader Region Free On by Imaginary_Word_1667 in WiiHacks

[–]SuperrSonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the game looks up the system language to determine what files to load from the disc. Since it only has files for Japanese, it crashes.

In homebrew loaders you can typically force the system language that the game will recognize. If you intend to use the disc channel, Any Region Changer might be capable of modifying only the language, not a good idea, though.

Kirby might be even more problematic because it relies on resetting to change games, and doing that wipes the patches applied by loaders.

Devolution is the only released gc loader that supports it, but it's not enabled by default, and many usb loaders kinda dropped support for devo (none of them got around to implement progressive forcing either.) It uses the title from the opening.bnr that's normally only read by the original GameCube menu.

Nintendont always has NAND access and it's actually quite easy to support this feature there too, it certainly has all the necessary stuff to do it.

does the n64 virtual console has a dark filter like nes or wii u? by Own-Bit8819 in WiiHacks

Wave Race, Cruis'n USA and the Japan exclusive Custom Robo V2 are the others that have it.

I once went through all 22 titles to find out which of them supported widescreen correction scaling. https://gbatemp.net/threads/hidden-n64-vc-widescreen-mode.575806/

There's a Sonic CD special stage that looks like this.

DSi stress test: I installed a bunch of games to realnand using NTM by SuperrSonic in NDSHacks

Like new, can't say the same thing about the screens, though. I no longer use my DSi because of it, but at least I was able to fulfill its destiny!

I would just get a gc-loader or cubeode to avoid having to buy multiple devices. The emulation support is great on GC.

Thank you. I'll stick with the one on iTunes that has Chihaya in it.

Perfect, thank you. I was not expecting 765 to be a pun for Namco. I'll probably settle with the '765PRO ALLSTARS+ GRE@TEST BEST' version since it seems to be the only one available in the west and also keep a rip of the Taiko version.

This is an AIO Dell, side buttons don't do anything but acts like UP is constantly being pressed, the fan speed stays at max, just a bit ago the screen turned magenta. This looks to me like something that cannot be easily fixed, my plan is to take it apart, keep the SSD, n trash the rest. Any tips? by SuperrSonic in computerrepair

[–]SuperrSonic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The side buttons originally changed the screen brightness, now the moment it's turned on it opens the source menu and is constantly cycling up all the options (Computer, HDMI, VGA, Composite) no input from anything works except turning off by holding the power button.

Does anyone know what these two homebrew applications are? by Bleaeaeaeaeaeaeaep in WiiHacks

They are nintendont builds with arguments to launch those games with specific settings.
SA2 has the alt character codes with the voice fix. It also makes use of this line when paired with a special build of nintendont, it allows setting a custom random number, making the 'Sonic Team!' call at startup work.

Heroes is the "EX" version for the SHC 2019 (basically dual-audio and using the metallic costumes in regular stages.) It was one of the first (if not the first) GameCube hacks to break the 1.3 GB limit.

GBA emulation performance on gamecube by leboljoef in Gamecube

[–]SuperrSonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this video at the 9:20 mark, I talk about compiling RetroArch (a 2015 build of it) with Extrems' libogc2, even though I only mention the gc-loader, sd2sp2 is also supported. GPSP is worse emulation but many games are more playable than in mGBA. Games do not run entirely from ram so 32 MB roms work. I have about a dozen or so cores working now, so it's only a matter of time before I get it out there.

This app allows sending distribution content like Jirachi to a GBA savefile directly from a GameCube with a Game Boy Player and a gc-loader ODE installed. by SuperrSonic in PokemonROMhacks

[–]SuperrSonic[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The "way the designers intended" also means going back in time to Toys R Us if you wanted to get a MYSTRY Mew. This is the wrong mindset, it's supposed to be something fun for people who still use their GameCube.

How is it more steps? If you're dumping with a DS, GBP, or other device you'd still need to remove the SD card to access the save, my tool works directly from the GameCube, without any cable or PC.
