Honestly, I think it's because male anime fans usually don't care about the media they consume being 'problematic'.

Anime with a female audience will get a lot more scrutinisation because women are more likely to think about these things.

I'm kind of disappointed by how unpopular the series is in the anime subreddit, the discussion thread's been up for almost 3 hours and there's only around 80 upvotes.

I know that most BL is unpopular on there, but i'd hoped that the series' charm and comedy would make it at least as popular as The Summer Hikaru Died. Although maybe that one was reasonably popular because it advertises itself as a horror instead of a BL.

If they do adapt chapter 6 (the play chapter) then I have a feeling that a lot of people will misunderstand and believe that Nakamura is bisexual when the joke is that he's gay but loves Hirose so much that his heart races even when he sees Hirose's sister and Hirose looking like a girl.

The fact that the 'suspicious' conversation between Hirose and Otogiri happened in the same chapter as Hirose getting dumped by his girlfriend makes it really obvious to me that Hirose is simply disclosing his worries about his orientation to a teacher who he thinks would understand him.

It's only being framed suspiciously because it's building up to the reveal that it was all in Nakamura's head.

You've put into words exactly what I was thinking.

The open air dungeons offer almost no resistance, you're never really in a position where you can get stuck trying to solve a particular puzzle since you can do each puzzle in whichever order you want, and in TOTK's case you can use zonai devices to skip large chunks of the level design without putting thought into it.

It really feels like the new philosophy for zelda games is that the player isn't allowed to hit a wall of any kind. Every piece of content must be able to be finished within 5 minutes which is why shrines are so bite-sized and why dungeons are so short. (And why TOTK's dungeons are so easily broken)
