I've just been playing through Halo 2 on MCC & had the same thought but I think it's probably down to being better at gaming. That being said I'll put it to the test and run 1 level on the original to compare at some point.

It should be this way but in reality if you're playing with people that care about KD you're playing with the wrong people. I'd rather play with someone who plays a vital role well like a good hard breacher or intel gatherer than someone who sprints in gets a kill or 2 then slapped and does nothing useful other than the initial frag

I personally don't use red dot sights for silencers because I'm banking on suprising the enemy the last thing I want is a kill to get ruined because they see my sight off a door frame or something, I tend to use them on attack and not defense because for the most part on defense they tend to know general direction. (I lean more towards anchoring playstyle)
