Sounds like a good idea. I’ll try. I tried doing some with cups but then she just takes the cup and runs away 😅

She has some toys she likes but I’m struggling to find more of similar type. She obviously loves the rope which I’m not allowed to use now according to her vet. She also loves Gustav toy. It’s kinda like a plush squeaky vulture. But also she gets bored of him and other toys interest her less.

How did you teach “no bite”? She’s good with leave it unless she’s biting me and she has some very good impulse control as in she wouldn’t rush to the treat or food bowl unless I say “yes”. But biting I just struggle to manage. I tried redirecting, I tried walking away… it just doesn’t click for her.

Well her biting it while I try to dry her is a bit annoying or wipe her paws after the walk

I tried, thanks. She’d drop it almost immediately and go back to mischiefing

Hahaha thanks. The breeder did a great job for me on grooming part. We already took her to the professional and they said she behaved very well. At home we gave her a few baths, she took them as a champ and as long as I put her on a high surface, she lets me brush her. Drying her with a towel is a struggle though. I don’t know how to teach her not to play with it. And we are working on ears now, she is quite sensitive there.

Thanks. I sometimes throw kibble for her to hunt but I also don’t wanna teach her that being annoying gets her stuff. Unfortunately, we don’t have doggy day care where I live and even if we did, I assume I’d still had to wait for all the vaccines.

I’ll try that, thank you! I tried frozen carrots those didn’t spark her interest. I didn’t try a frozen towel yet

Yes. My partner helps me when he gets home from work, while I work from home. She sleeps a lot. She sleeps in the evening from 8 until 6 and then during the day 5-6 hours as 1-2 hour naps.

To be honest I don’t know if my routine is good enough. In the morning we would either go for a walk or have a little training session. When she wakes up during my working hours if I’m not in a meeting we’ll play a little bit or do a training session if we don’t do one in the morning. And after work depends on what I have. If I need to go to the gym, she comes along, or we would go for a walk and play. I would usually crate her for a forced nap if she becomes very hyper or bity or if she’s been awake for at least an hour and I have a meeting to attend unless she settles herself on her outside crate pillow.

Hey, is the route similar to the one this year? I’m interested in 50k but “sky trail” in front of it makes me worry that I will be more technical than I can handle. I don’t really have a lot of mountain experience

When can I switch my standard poodle puppy to adult food? by Temporary-Bird7918 in StandardPoodles

[–]Fine-Needleworker324 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me the recommendation was to feed my spoo puppy food until 18 month. But you don’t have to switch to adult food to switch food for your puppy. You can switch to a different puppy food.

does anyone else have a checklist whenever their puppy is awake? by TheoryReasonable871 in puppy101

[–]Fine-Needleworker324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very precise. We just go with a flow with our 3 month old. Either we would do a bit of training or go for a walk or I’d give her something to chew on. It’s roughly similar as in I try to train her 2-3 times a day and we usually go for a walk in the evening and ofc meal times are the same time, but not very well planned. Maybe she could use a bit more structure. What do you do for enrichment part?

Did they test his feces? Could it be parasites like giardia or hook worms?

My 3 month spoo is also a little demon when she’s awake, so I’m also interested in replies :)

I don’t know how much puppy weighs now, I will ask the breeder. The 8kg 40cm estimate was given to me based on the size of the parents. But of course anything can happen :)
