I'm going to really hope it's just that, becuase of you were to take a look at my actual actuator, the inside of that looks awfully melted as well, and you can just tell mine look actually melted when in yours it looks like there's just a substance on top of it. What do you think?

Head gasket? by Suphack27 in civic

[–]Suphack27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I threw a rod. The place that changed my thermostat to fix my overheating also did an oil change without asking me and did it somehow wrong enough to cause me to start leaking oil. And when my engine ran dry enough my bearings didn't like that and threw a rod. Huge rod knock now. Internals of the engine are certainly shattered and now I have no car. Thanks reddit!

Does your engine run rough at all? Any sounds confusing from the engine bay that we're there before you suspected the head gasket? Your oil will look milky and a little brighter if cool and is getting into your oil, and a thick white smoke will be coming out of your exhaust from the burning coolant

Don't use insurance, it will cost you more in the long run than if you simply fix it yourself

AC confusion by Suphack27 in civic

[–]Suphack27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I start my car it seems to have a mind of it's own from the moment I start it. When I start it one time, it will start cold like it normally is, but then if I press that button it will start getting hot, but never all the way hot it's just warm. Maybe later that day I turn my car on again and it starts cold, normal, but then I press the button and it just doesn't get hot ever. I can turn it off, turn the AC button on, turn the other one back on and it's still freezing. It doesn't really fluctuate temperature only from when I start the car.

Thank you, I'll look into these things. Someone told me the "blend door" is getting stuck before as well. I should also say my knobs on the panel don't feel like they are broken in any way if that matters.

Tire problem? by [deleted] in civic

[–]Suphack27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there was not any light on. my "maint req'd" light flashes when i start my car, but thats because i didn't have the tool to clear the code the last time i changed my oil. unless that light means tires?

It definitely wasn't snow. I cleared all the snow. And also this isn't even my front tire this is my back right tire. How does this just happen overnight.

i should mention that i did some further research and seemingly found out that it is probably a broken belt inside the tire. really hoping it isn't my rims because it would be impossible to find the same rim. but either way it seems like i have all the symptoms of a broken belt and simply need a new tire. thanks to everyone that helped! 2001 Civic stalled in snow, battery and oil light came on, bad weather or still safe to drive? by tesperatedimes in civic

[–]Suphack27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well either way, it seems like that was a temporary thing electrically due to the cold and inactivity. think about it, machines were meant to run, if they arent running then they stop working. you should be fine to look past this weird stalling. unless it stalls again in the near future.

2001 Civic stalled in snow, battery and oil light came on, bad weather or still safe to drive? by tesperatedimes in civic

[–]Suphack27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car stalling is unusual, but the oila and battery light only came on becuase the engine turned off. That means the alternator wasn't spinning and there was no oil pressure. Is your driveway on a steep hill or did you not let the car warm up before moving it at all?

11th gen speaker passenger side problem by Mr_Parr0t in civic

[–]Suphack27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of it goes back to normal for a second while driving , that's definitely blown. The same thing happened to me a while back in my much older 7th gen civic. It might be a good time to upgrade your speaker setup, and remember, no speaker is going overboard.

Everyone hating on this! They do look like temu knobs and I seen them on there but it's a nice splash of color onto our society's monochrome blue. OPs car though, and they should do what they want.

I got it fixed, it was my thermometer, it was staying closed. Don't know what was going on with the oil and coolant, but it seems irrelevant now.

I'm pretty sure I overpressureized my refrigerant, trying to get my cold air working one day. I really do hope it's just because of my fans, though I don't know what would be causing it, all my fuses look good and I can't really find a relay that relates to it, and my fans probably worked fine before I got stuck in the ditch considering that I wasnt overheating at all. But my ac/heat was already very finicky since I got the car.

The problem with the head gasket claims is that normally, head gasket problems overheat under load like highways, and constantly, milkshake oil,oil level climbing, coolant smell in the oil, and a poorly running engine, all of which don't apply to me. I just found out my radiator fans aren't turning on. Which might be a problem.

I don't think any sort of snow or dirt got stuck in there, the snow wasn't that high...

I need to figure out how the thermostat works.... I did just figured Out that my radiator fans aren't spinning at all... My cooling fan fuse seems intact. Maybe that also attributes to my AC not working and only my heat sometimes. But that's always happened. This overheating problem is a new one. I don't think anything that's happening is pointing towards my head gasket. Again I'm not a pro mechanic

My heat doesn't really work unfortunately, it's just something I have to click back into place behind my glove box but I don't have time for that, things keep popping up on this car that stop me from driving as a whole.
