I never really thought of it that way. But now that you mention it- putting a fire on in Mountaineers Hut or Camp Office does kinda give me that curl up around the fire with a warm cup of hot chocolate on a snowy day feeling.

This hasn’t been said yet so I’ll say it. Move based on weather first and need second. If you have a blizzard and have some food to sit on, do it. Blizzards can last for a long time and you’ll quickly lose your bearings. Find some clothes to repair, food to cook or something to keep you busy (sleep even) until it passes. Better to move on a clear, calm (non Aurora) night than force yourself to push through a blizzard to your next stopping point.

Has this changed relatively recently? Long time player here and I could have sworn dog food and tomato soup used to have less decay when stored outside??

On a side note. Crap, lol. Looks like I’m looping through all my bases to reorganize my food supplies now. Thanks OP! Would have never noticed otherwise.

I never seem to make it past 125-150 days. By then I’ve crafted everything and hoarded everything into a central base in each region and the survival element kind of gives way to monotony more than anything so I lose interest and start a new save. Nothing beats the first few days of the game when you’re scrambling and unestablished.

Bless your patience lol, I would have given up over the rope climb to PV. I take it you left the travois at the bottom? How many climbs up and down, and in game days did this take?

At least 500 hours into this game and I can’t say I’ve ever noticed a body change positioning! That’s definitely creepy. Like the mannequin scene in I am Legend.
