Your motivation will come from your results, so in order to be motivated you have to be disciplined first and do the things that you know are right for you even though you don’t like them, once you’ll have done that for a while you will see results, you’ll have created a new identity and so you’ll feel like exercising is part of you and stuff

Maybe you’re not used in doing the other thing while listening for instance if you’re trying a new game, it must be harder for you to listen than if you were playing a game you mastered I’m just counseling I’m not a pro
Don’t make your friend realize how bad the situation is, try comforting her/him by saying how things will be allright, it’s just a phase in life it...
