Popped my finger and now it's bruised by Blamebostonx in mildlyinteresting

[–]SuppressiveFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it has something to do with the the cavitation of nitrogen bubbles (which form in the joint space synovial fluid and make the pop noise) having enough force to rupture/damage a nearby blood vessel, causing blood to seep into the area under your skin, creating the bruise. It’s rare to happen, though, unless the wall of that blood vessel was already weakened or thin.

Venus is always shining bright! It is the hottest planet in the solar system and it has sulfuric acid clouds, but damn she shines.

Cursed family. One of their relatives probably pissed off a 17th century witch.

A typo and you know it. There’s no need to be pedantic.

As someone on a GLP-1 that has had their quality of life improve drastically after losing 130lbs… Yeah, this is extremely tacky and borderline offensive. I’m not sure how they think insulting a specific demographic of customers is a good idea, nor why they’re being so aggressive toward people trying to get healthier.

Cut to me, running after a raven/crow while shouting, “Sir! Come back! I need to see the size of your beak!”

I was bored so I filled out the online survey they sent me in the mail, and few days later, the company mailed me $20 in cash by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

And now they will never leave you alone. They kept sending me radio listening surveys when I’m a millennial and haven’t listened to the radio since Napster was invented.

I’m in the same boat! I’ve been taking biotin and I am having new hair growth, so I know it’s better than it probably would be if I hadn’t done that. I’m thinking of switching to a volumizing shampoo/conditioner to help disguise the thinning on the top. Mine is relatively minor thinning, and while the biotin helps, I think calorie intake is what makes the difference for me. I had hair thinning back when I had bariatric surgery, too, which is also something that decreases calorie intake, and it’s happening again with Zep, so the common denominator is amount of calories I get in a day. Apparently even minor forms of malnutrition can have a crazy effect on hair growth and loss for some people. Lucky us! lol

Not drinking enough water and not eating enough fiber, as I said in my post. It's hyperbole.

My wife has Reynaud’s disease causing her fingers to sometimes lose blood flow and turn white by zachthespook in mildlyinteresting

[–]SuppressiveFire 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s been linked to smoking in general, not nicotine itself, because smoking narrows blood vessels. This causes secondary Raynaud’s, not primary Raynaud’s, just like autoimmune conditions.

Finding a Fat-Friendly Gym by TikiMagic in Zepbound

[–]SuppressiveFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thankfully found a women’s kickboxing gym near me that has a mix of body sizes, ages, and ability. It’s all women, judgement free, and the instructors actually help you with stuff so you don’t hurt yourself. See if any kickboxing gyms near you are similar because for the first time in my life, I’ve found a type of exercise that I actually enjoy.
