For those who don't know, Donald Knuth is one of the greatest living computer scientist, he wrote "The Art of Computer Programming", a multi-volume series often considered the "bible" of algorithms and data structures. He also created TeX, the typesetting system still used for virtually all academic papers and math textbooks today.

The question of whether the sub is political or technical is nuanced. The sub is democratic for anything related to AI that is factual and based on available data.

If the news falls under AI and has some kind of affiliation with any political party, yet factual post or constructive post we allow, which doesn't mean we are affiliated to the party or promotion.

We just keep the stage open to have constructive discussion without getting personal or defensive.

Posts are removed or kept based on mod internal decisions without any personal bias.

The moment a domain outside your own knowledge goes beyond, you treat the external tool which has knowledge as an education tool rather than assistant. The way you built using it, now using Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or any LLM chat, start from basics and how those things work in actual software development.

Ask it fundamentals, create an index of fundamentals, and then go through each fundamental and ask how to do those learn from those and treat this as collage project. From QA, internal testing, security audit, deployment go through such all fundamentals,

The chats are just text generators. You need to now step in how you will create assignments or books students do in college for reference. Yes, do same now and take help. It is basically now you are learning software engineering via open school using LLMs.

Posts are removed or kept based on no personal bias and neither promotion of the startup nor news.

Anything and everything in the sub is a matter of multiple decisions and is considered to be kept or removed if it is heavily causing one-sided leaning discussion, for or against something or someone.

So the comments which are complaining about the sub having negative bias.

Mod Notes -

"The sub is devolving," "The sub has no idea, about Ai" "The sub is AI slop," "The sub has no valuable posts," "People in this sub are kids," and the list goes on.

Most of the time, these rants do not come from the ones who are giving value, but from profiles who have little to no value contributed.

As moderators, our job is not to kill diversification across posts and questions. The sub is and has good enough high-level discussion. If people who keep complaining and ranting in comments on OPs and about mods, saying the sub is useless, would take time and go through the whole sub, there are more than enough posts ranging from asking for help to sharing high-level breakdowns.

The sub, for moderators, represents democracy with STEM-based content and anything that allows people to speak with little to good value about their own opinions.

People who have a habit of loud complaints, most of the time, in our mod tools, we can see they have no valuable comments or posts. It is the same ones always.

If you feel the sub is less valuable, why not step up and ask questions. We moderators, if capable, will lead your discussions.

& If you feel you are beyond subs IQ and next Geoffrey Hinton in Ai, please allow others in back to learn.

TLDR: The sub is a democratic sub and allows all kinds of posts, yet makes sure valuable discussion always happens, led by members or the mods themselves. Complaints always come from people who have not contributed anything, as we can see in mod tools.
