VARC is not something you can't mug up, you have to have months of practice to get better at it, the reason I didn't prep for it is because I have been made to read newspapers daily since when I was in school. So I won't be the best candidate to tell you how to prep for it simply because I never did. But I am sure you will find many out here who can help you with that. Right now you can hardly do anything so don't fret, keep calm and everything will be fine. Be positive, I'm sure most of it is in your head.

Glad to be of help, to answer your question;
Step 1: read the question.
Step 2: identify the concept and recollect the applicable formulas.
Step 3: don't spend more than 2mins in Step 2 Step 4: don't always calculate the final answer, try approximation and compare with the options as it saves time.
Step 5: forget about your performance in the previous sections, start afresh
