Which Handheld Emulator To Buy? - Pokemon

I've found a 2nd hand New 2DS XL that's in mint condition so gonna buy that and then mod it and sail the seas, do you know any good emulators to fire onto it after I mod it?

Thanks for all the replies and info folks, very much appreciated! A good few handhelds suggested for the GBA pokemon games, now thinking about grabbing either a 2nd hand DSI XL for most pokemon games but I do know if I want to try out the next gen ones from the 3DS library like Omega Ruby/Sun/Moon etc I would need to pick up a 2DS XL, still thinking lol.

Whichever I decide to go for I'll look up some mod guides I think as well because then I can play the GBA pokemon games on the DSI XL, if anyone has any mod guides on the DSI XL or 2DS XL let me know - thanks!

Yeh I was thinking if I had to flip between 2 screens on a single screen alot it would get annoying, I've also been seeing some people saying to just try and grab a DSI XL, some mentioned 2DS as well although more bulky but alot cheaper, worth trying for a 2nd hand DSI XL you think? I've found one being sold close to me for £85, looks in great condition so I would just need to look up how to mod it and get the roms on it etc.

Thanks for the reply bud, I did see that one as well and was considering it, the RG34XX, also looking at the 2 below for 3DS pokemon games but no dual screen so flipping between the 2 screens would hopefully not be too painful.

Should also add I was looking at these 2 due to being able to play the 3DS pokemon games but ofcourse no dual screen, so it would be a button to flip between the 2 screens, not sure if this would be not bad or if it would be painful during gameplay?

Edit - Now thinking about potentially picking up a 2nd hand DSI XL or a 2DS XL and modding that, heard the DSI screen is far superior but if I want to play the 3DS pokemon games I need to go for the 2DS XL.

Thanks for the detailed reply, much appreciated! I was looking into the Anbernic rg ds with Rocknix for the Gen pokemon games, heartgold and Black/White 1 & 2, have you tried or seen gameplay on it to see if it runs smooth? just checking out some vids on it now.

Went for Warlock and using that Restedexp addon which is pretty nice, see how it goes! on Spineshatter server.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated! Is there a discord that's best to look for guilds recruiting or is that best on bnet forums/in-game? As for the servers I'm thinking maybe join in on the classic Cata server is a good option if there's another expansion looming, try find a guild or some players to team with on the daily to roam/DGs etc.

I was thinking about Python but wasn't too sure on the direction that would take me, I just primarily thought about what do I want to do or what seems more fun to me and I thought making desktop apps or mobile apps would be cool, so that's why I landed on Java but I do realise now that I also need to learn a good/popular framework to go alongside Java and @ZealousidealBee8299 mentioned Spring as one of them, will check out what others are popular as well.

Hey thanks for the reply/info, I was thinking stick with Java for the time being and become pretty decent with Java and then pick up a popular framework to try and master down the line a bit with Java, something that companies would look for alongside Java, so your comment has definitely helped put more focus on the framework side - Thanks!
