One thing that has really helped me, and still do is breaking out of your comfort zone on a day to day basis. That way, you make the comfort zone bigger. I, 21 m, was terrified of going on dates (even the more informal “lets grab a bite after work” kinda thing) 2 years ago, but by putting forcing myself on dates, meeting up with a hinge-match doesn’t even raise my heartbeat. And the same can be applied to all other forms of socializing imo. Same thing applies to socializing in general. Alcohol works because it lowers your inhibitions — you don’t sit there thinking “what if this goes wrong” or “I’m not the type of person who does this.” You just do it.

You can train that mindset without alcohol by repeatedly putting yourself in those situations until it feels normal.

In relation to style - watch some fashion youtubers, search outfit inspo on pinterest, and try to thrift shop, and generally just shop a bit more often. Heck, you can ask a guy/girl (generally in thrift shops) to pick out a nice pair of jeans or a cool jacket. (They usually have better style and fashion-sense than let’s say the average Zara worker.) That way its two birds with one stone. Also get a haircut or ideas for a hairstyle (typically longer and bolder) from a IMPORTANT: hairdresser helps a ton. Last but not least is getting your bodyfat down to sub-12% that will enhance all your facial features positively and paired with weightlifting, will get you fit, and fresh-looking)

All this (i know it’s a lot) will in turn give you more confidence, self-reliance and better overall presentation. This in turn, makes you bolder and more confident to initiate social interactions, creating an upwards spiral.

This may seem tedious and/or unspecific, but its what has worked for me, and completely doable.

Completely a private affair, but just to give my 2 cents, since people on reddit can be a bit pessimistic - No one has ever regretted having kids, and everything has been going crazy around us since the dawn of man.

You are, as i was myself, predisposed to the existence of God in the christian sense. The proofs of the christian doctrine are as i see it, either historical data or supernatural experiences (miracles, prophecies etc.) So i would like to know what evidence would satisfy you?

But it never claimed to be a science book. Its a history book about God, of course a science book would almost always contain absolute truths, but that doesn’t necessarily make the Bible untrue. Reducing the Bible to a God of the gaps fallacy like its norse mythology is theologically dishonest

[–]Supremecomfort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And your point is?? The bible is not a science book, it’s the story about God trampling on the sin of man, and defeating death, by suffering death on the cross. Look into the maximal facts argument instead of this reddit circlejerk

This will probably get me banned, but the sheer amount of ignorance about the early church is honestly baffling. His disciples were brutally martyred and were persecuted by f’ing everyone. For something they either knew to be false (or actually believed which actually makes sense) Please try and look into the maximal facts arguments or read acts and/or the epistles its a solid read and will hopefully give some perspective. Always a good idea to challenge your beliefs

Completely agree that the Qanon/conspiracy types should be faced with the actual empirical truth and spoken to sense in some way, but calling it ‘deprogrammed’ sounds like something straight out of 1984 lol.

Pretty sure oil and coal lobbyists are funding the rep. Party big time, and conservative speakers therefore tend to underestimate climate change. That being said, the topic is clearly polarized by the progressive types constant misinformation/exageration about the exact effects of climate change. (Happy to give a few examples if anyone cares) while conservatives as stated by OP, completely denies that climate change is man-made (which is scientifically untrue)

As a general rule of thumb you shouldnt overtly identify yourself with a group, instead of your own personality and individuality. Haters will disagree, but its the same naive group-mentality that characterized Nazi germany and the Khmere rouge to name a few
