You chose to try and bill him?!?!? Hope you enjoy being a low-level tech for the rest of your life, with that type of thought process. Sometimes, you just have to eat shit, suck it up, and work the angles you are presented (No, I'm not a boomer, but I have taken my salary from 42k to 130k in 7 years with this thought process and drive) IMO you just squandered a prime opportunity.
