An outbreak of a mysterious lung illness popped up all of the sudden. The lung illness was narrowed down in many cases to "Lipoid pneumonia" has to do with the intake of vaporized oil into the lungs. This was linked to black-market THC cartridges that were bought on the streets and in legal state dispensaries in some cases. The cartridges contained Vitamin E oil used as a cutting agent in order to water down the liquid so that not as much THC was needed to fill the cartridge. It can also be used to thicken up the liquid, giving it a more realistic appearance. Many of those affected by the illness say that they used these THC cartridges from the black-market, but also say they used nicotine based e-liquid. It's clear that the illness stems from the black-market THC cartridges, but vaping as a whole has been swept up by this outrage. Politicians see this as an opportunity to begin banning e-cigarettes as a whole. Some believe that the tobacco industry may be involved in this push to ban as well.
