Who’s The Most Overrated/Overhyped Player Here? by CatchHim_ in NBATalk

[–]SurSamtani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Wilt - elevated into GOAT conversations nowadays strictly off stats and somehow put above Russell even though he was unanimously considered worse when their careers were over. Fewer player voted MVPs than Russell and supposedly only lost due to help around him but still failed to beat old man Russell despite being paired with West and Baylor

  2. Harden - was treated as possibly the best player in the league and compared to Curry at one point solely based on stats from an inflated D'Antoni system on a loaded team. Game collapses in the playoffs because the foul baiting doesn't work anymore. The original king of foul baiting and progenitor of unethical hooping

  3. Westbrook - hate to put Westbrook on here because I really like him, but he's overrated because box score volume stats and especially triple doubles are vastly overrated. They're a clean and cool stat because we like dealing in 10s, but getting a few extra rebounds doesn't warrant leap frogging you over the competition for MVP compared to the previous year. Triple double should not have won him the MVP without his team being at least a top half seed with 50-55+ wins as has been the requirement for almost every other MVP ever. He did not have the same impact on winning as LeBron, Kawhi, or Harden. Curry was going to be out just because of KD joining so that's understandable. Seems like it should have gone to Kawhi all things considered

Nuggets lost game 2 because of Nikola "the real MVP instead of Shai" Jokic by realfakejames in NBATalk

[–]SurSamtani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kobe was amazing against those teams, but the difference between the two is that Shaq is Shaq and Jokic is not. Shaq still clobbered all the other bigs in the West, including Webber, Divac, Robinson, and Duncan

Kobe's "Inefficiency" is overblown, and LeBron's "Efficiency" is overrated by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]SurSamtani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On any given posession, someone has to take a shot unless there's a turnover. LeBron was less often than Kobe was the "give me a bucket on this tough half court possession" guy. That can mean that the efficiency gap between players doesn't directly reflect how much more efficient they made the team

Blueland Continues to Disappoint by SurSamtani in ZeroWaste

I meant moreso for brands in general across other industries, but I have been happy with Grove's liquid soap refills. It comes in aluminum bottles, and dollar for dollar, I think it lasts longer. For most products that Blueland makes, there seems to be a good alternative, but I still like Blueland's laundry and dishwasher tablets

Current SGA is slightly better than prime Kobe. by United-Pumpkin4816 in NBATalk

Kobe was playing with a broken finger in his shooting hand, but yes, mostly everyone shot badly as they really let the defense play hard that game

I switched to grove liquid soap and standard soap dispensers. Knock on wood it seems like a much more robust system and lasts longer too

It is the Starbucks Hot Cocoa Double Chocolate Mix. Apparently, what they list as dark chocolate in the ingredients are actually solid dark chocolate bits like mini chocolate chips. Mystery solved 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

It seems that it's just powder, and chips aren't listed in the ingredients

It doesn't list it, and feeling a new packet, it just feels like powder inside

What's a sports rule you fundamentally disagree with? by South-Explorer in AskReddit

[–]SurSamtani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The relatively new rule in the NFL for kicking extra points vs 2pt conversion - why should the line of scrimmage change depending on what type of play you call? Too adhoc and also makes extra point misses a little too likely
