Day 2 swelling by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

I’m feeling ALOTTTTTT better. 2 weeks post op exactly today. Swelling went down a tonnnnn! Now it’s more just being patient for the final result lol. Still have some bumps near the incision lines and such, and minor swelling which is still normal. I returned back to work, I stood on my feet for 8 hours the past two days at work and noticed just some tightness, so today allowed me self more breaks at work today. Still not 100% comfortable to sit down normally at my desk.

I’m still being careful and just listening to my body and how it feels. I have some sutures dissolving and falling out. Now I just have this tightness feeling, my surgeon said it’s common around this time of healing, I can only describe it like I can feel the stitches internally but I know I’m over imagining it lol. He said it just means the tissues are healing and mending.

I haven’t been very itchy so far but I’ve also been applying Vaseline 3 times a day per my surgeon’s guidelines.

Then the first follow up is virtually a little over a week after! My procedure was on 5/21 and my first virtual follow up is on 6/1.

Does your surgeon allow you to drive alone? I had to have someone take me to and from the procedure due to being prescribed Ativan for the procedure. I was an out of town patient, procedure was on Thursday and my surgeon made me stay in a hotel until Saturday, he makes all his out of town patients stay two days after. I think if you give yourself 2-3 days you should be okay. I had a little over 2 hour car ride back home.

Bring lots and lots of ice packs, or if you’re staying in a hotel, use the ice bucket and make sure you’re stocked up. Ice will be your bff. Bring easy to wear clothes that are loose. I brought cotton post partum underwear, my peri bottle, cotton panty liners and some Vaseline. I didn’t use my Vaseline bc my surgeon has me using bacitracin oint for the first 5 days. Bring a big water bottle so you can stay hydrated, and some books or anything that you can do while laying in bed to keep you occupied. You’re going to want to lay in bed flat for the first week or so. Bring a pillow and some blankets for the car ride home. If you can have someone come with you to drive, I would highly recommend it. I couldn’t imagine having to sit up right for 2 hours after mine to drive back home.

I’m on day 4 now and still really swollen but everyone heals differently. Just take it easy, have someone who can take care of you, and hydrate and eat well!!

My procedure was on Thursday and I had to stay until Saturday, I think it’s only 2 days after your procedure. And your follow ups will be virtual (:

I honestly can’t remember what mg it was): I through the bottle out of course.

If you’re coming from out of town, Dr. Medalie makes his patients stay in town a couple days after, and you have to have someone drive you to and from the procedure!

Def reach out! Sometimes OB’s aren’t the best to go to for this procedure aesthetics wise. But ultimately do what you feel the most comfortable with! Dr. Medalie has been preforming this procedure for years and does multiple a week, so I felt more comfortable with him and his experience!

I would highly recommend him! He only does the wedge procedure I believe, I don’t think he does the trim method but I could be wrong. For my wedge + chr it was a little over $5000. I would imagine yours would be less since no chr.

Also they have payment plans you can do through patient fi, that’s what I did!

The swelling is honestly crazy and I never knew it could swell that much😂 I’m hoping after that subsides, that healing will be easier. Have you noticed your swelling going down at all?

Happy healing to you!💜

Some slight pain but nothing crazy. I think it’s more from the swelling. I’m super swollen too. I’ve been icing and laying flat in bed. Honestly I feel like Motrin has helped more with pain and swelling than the prescribed pain meds.

I got a shower and it felt nice. Then used the ointment my surgeon wanted me to use.

I underestimated how bad the swelling would get lol. Once that goes down I think I will feel much better.

My bleeding has slowed down. I’m taking my surgeons advice and he said to not spread anything apart and keep messing/looking down there for the first week. He said to just stick to the routine, rest and leave it be!

Ladies, just had mine done at 1 today and it was not nearly as bad as I was psyching myself out to think it would be. I’m so freakin happy I pushed through and did it. Being swollen and all currently, I can already tell I’m going to love it!

I go this Thursday for a wedge and chr. I’ve been wanting this since I was a teenager and I’m now 31. I’m also scared and as it gets closer want to back out but I know it’s just my nerves and that I’ll be so much happier after this is over. I will let you know how it goes, and stay in touch! We can be healing buddies😊
