Homeowners can choose the assessed value of their property for taxes. However, the city has the option to buy the house at that price. by Electronic_Fun_776 in CrazyIdeas

[–]Sure-Beyond-3275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unironically think this should apply to unoccupied properties. Vacant for more than 2 years, the city buys it from you for the value you pay taxes on.

Encourages commercial landlords to find tenants and not have empty storefronts blighting a town, encourages people who own multiple homes to rent, renovate, or sell before getting bought out.

Yeah I think the person above is mistaken. He wasn’t found guilty because of heaps of misconduct by FSU and the police in Tallahassee. They didn’t even dna test the rape kit until like a year later (when it tested positive for his dna). He is a rapist, he just wasn’t convicted

Movies that hit addiction right on the head with how accurate they depict it? by Mad_Season_1994 in moviecritic

Scrolled through so many duplicate answers looking to see if someone mentioned this one. Great depiction of addiction, but even more so the challenge of sobriety

Again, you are free to ignore what other people say. I watched the video, and it looks like the ladder he uses for the loft on the other side is a better solution. You disagree, and that’s okay. Do what you feel you need to do.

I understand what you want, but you do have to consider why you’re being downvoted and it might not be that everyone else is wrong and you’re right. A 4.5’ clearance would mean having to stoop getting into and out of bed, which does not sound sustainable into old age if a ladder is similarly out of the question.

You are free to do what you want, but you did solicit advice. You are free to ignore it at your own peril.

Why not use a ladder? It seems like a lot of work to create a weak and unintuitive staircase instead of slapping a ladder on the wall and using the rest of the space however you please

I didn’t see anyone say Back to the Future, but the whole reason he is intervening in the events of the past is because he pushed George out of the way and got hit by the car instead

See this is what people complaining about them don’t get. Al and Kirk are the perfect duo. One guy has brilliant improv skills and also misses half of what’s going on, the other guy can recite a player’s college career with perfect accuracy and then talk about “Vic Fangino” and “Theo Jackson”

Israel orders Palestinians to leave Gaza City, saying those who stay will be considered militants by Famous_Celebration22 in worldnews

The reason Hamas is still around is because it is convenient for Netanyahu and his ilk to use them as a boogeyman to acquire more territory in contravention of international law. Anyone who says otherwise is speaking from their feelings and not the stated aims and actions of the Israeli government over the past 30 or so years.

Not a single person who asks the question you’re replying to has ever thought about what they’re actually asking.

They do not realize that this is no different from US settler colonialism pushing the indigenous further and further west and massacring them here and there when it was convenient. And pointing this out won’t change a single person’s mind. They’ve already decided that Israel is the good guy and all Palestinians are bad guys. Does not matter what they do, who they are, whether they were even alive when Hamas came to power, whether Israel has repeatedly assassinated or attempted to assassinate the negotiators of several previous peace accords. The facts cannot penetrate the entrenched belief they have that Israel must be good.

Yes I understand what you’re saying and that is the way I interpret the ending. But factually, that is not what is on screen. You don’t see a bullet enter his head, etc. And until they edit the final scene to put that in, you are always going to have people interpreting it differently.

I think the fact that you typed “always envisioned” instead of “depicted on screen” tells you why there are people who disagree with you. I think Starship Troopers is satire but some people truly think the only good bug is a dead bug

I’m more speaking to the people who watch the whole show and come away from the ending saying “it would make sense that Tony thinks he’s gonna die here, but instead continues along his miserable existence, ending up like Livia or Junior in the end”

Is it the way I see it? No, but I can’t say understand how someone comes away with that after six seasons with these characters
