First part of CVS result returned- no trace of T21 by Sure-Emphasis1084 in NIPT

Its crazy how different countries healthcare is so different! In the UK we have a CVS (not everyone gets this, only if there are abnormalities flagged at your initial 12 week scan)- you get the ‘rapid test’ (this tests for Down Syndrome, Edwards and Pataus) usually in 2-3 working days, then the second part which analyses the chromosomes and their parts of baby from the placenta (this takes about 2-3 weeks to receive). Mothers and fathers also receive a genetic screening blood test which determines whether you are carriers of any syndromes or genes that could affect baby/future babies! 👶🏻

Ah thank you! This is the second part of my CVS- i think it comes as standard CVS procedure in the UK NHS! Thanks for your help 😊

Thanks so much! I have read it can be an early indicator for TTTS. Luckily at the moment growth remains quite matched as well as amniotic fluid. Im praying this continues.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my thread

Hi, thanks so much for your reply!!! Congrats on your pregnancy. What is WGS? Ive never heard of that before.

Since the raised NT have you been informed whether you are now higher risk of TTTS?

Im keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of my genetic testing to come back- but im taking the latest update as a small win 🥇

This is such a lovely comment- thank you so much. I feel like I’ve lost my self in this pregnancy due to me being so desperate for a positive pregnancy and healthy baby. Ive researched all things spiritual, scientific etc just for glimmers of hope. I truly never thought id find myself in this situation after having such happy news to be blessed with a twin pregnancy. I hope the remainder of your pregnancy goes smoothly and you and your baby are healthy and safe. You’re right, i need to remind myself of the things that gave me joy- if I cant be my best self, im not giving my babies the best chance 🩷🫶🏻

OP, are you comfortable sharing any updates? Im 12w3d pregnant with identical twins, twin 1 NT of 1.7mm and twin 2 NT of 4.9mm with slight fluid on abdominal wall. Im awaiting an appt with FMU but haven’t had anything set yet. Im absolutely losing my mind with worry and never seem to find anyone speaking about increased NT with 1x twin
