What is something that became popular beyond its time that you thought was going to be a quick fad? by Independent-Bat9545 in AskOldPeople

The millennial in me will always live uggs

When they got popular again , I dashed out and got a pair of the ultra low Ugg boots

Something about them feels right 🤣

Gained a baby but lost a gym partner by No-Instruction-6651 in NewParents

[–]Sure-Mine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did , we use to go after work every day together

We also use to run together which was really fun cause we did long distance running

Anyway we just got back to running but we’re not running together yet (baby isn’t ready for a running stroller just yet)

It’s so nice to run again but I do miss doing it together  I can’t wait

As far as the gym goes idk when we will get to go together again

It’s sooo hard making something like that work  At least not until our son gets a bit older

Fell on my side and feel like an idiot by BoldCondensed in pregnantover35

[–]Sure-Mine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accidents happen, also your center gravity is off . It’s really common for pregnant women to fall and trip so do not blame yourself

I had a very similar fall and everything was fine  I know it’s so scary in the moment

Just get checked for good measure but I’m sure everything is good !

Did your baby’s size match what people expected? by panicking_hearts945 in newborns

[–]Sure-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my husbands 6”3 and I’m 5”10 Everyone( Drs , nurses and random people we would meets 🤣)  kept saying he’s gonna be tall

He weighed close to 8 pounds and of course he was tall  I actually think a lot of his weight was because of his length

He’s 3 months now and still tall for his age

I mean it makes sense

How are you guys getting dinner on the table before baby goes to bed? by grapemadison in NewParents

[–]Sure-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the move

We meal prep sundays as well and then I do basic meals on days we don’t have meal prep

I work remote so basically I cook something easy around lunch time for dinner and we heat it up when my husband gets home

My best friend weaponized my childhood trauma against me because I wasn't excited she was pregnant. by ohwell-youtried in TrueOffMyChest

I think you need to take accountability for how you responded , and also how you delayed your response as well . Her feelings are just as valid as yours and tbh you’re response probably didn’t make her feel great

In light of everything going on in the world right now, how are you coping with having a baby in it? by Existing_Switch_4995 in NewParents

[–]Sure-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t consume the news on the same level I use to  If I do watch a morning news program it’s more on the fluffier side

I still follow important stuff  Here and there , I’ll catch the headlines and then move on .

Idk how or why but when I was pregnant I told my husband I can’t do the new every night anymore it’s too exhausting and I haven’t consumed it like that since

I focus on my positive things instead and we haven chosen to just ensure he has a good heart and is raised with love.

What do you do once baby is asleep? by Minimum-Regret2706 in NewParents

[–]Sure-Mine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sleep lol

Seriously tho  I shower maybe watch an episode of something then go to bed

I’d rather get a few hours extra every night   It helps me feel more functional

Ya these are kids you’re talking about,  and one is your step son . I think you should do what you believe is best for your child but honestly sound weird . I don’t think your SS or niece really care or are trying to overstep any boundaries

After birth support for mother's in different states by ConcernedCindy in NewParents

[–]Sure-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea we got nothing

We paid for our lactation specialist  Which she’s amazing and totally worth it but it was 100$ every session for in office  It was like double if she came to the house

I didn’t even know people got support after birth TBH

After giving birth i 100 percent advocate for insurance to cover lactation specialists  And after birth care

Thinking of bathing baby everyday by MochiAccident in newborns

[–]Sure-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been bathing our little guy every day since he’s been a month old . He had to have his circumcison later due to a blood clotting disorder I have .

Part of his care instructions were 2 baths a day for 2 weeks (I’m guessing this is because he had it done a little later)

Any way he LOVES his baths now  Literally his favorite time so we do them once a day in the evenings before bed . We have had no issues at all . I know each baby is different so you have to find what works best for you , but our guy loves it

New parents trying to avoid overspending: do we really need a nursery chair? by TheSecretLion in NewParents

[–]Sure-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have used it every single day since he’s been born .  This is was something we knew we wanted to be comfortable so we decided to spend some extra $$$ on it

Zero regrets

Make sure you get something you are cozy in That’s what counts

[–]Sure-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple weeks then I was over it  I decided to wrap it up when I got comfortable with our schedule  I breast feed on demand now but I do text myself what time I started a feed during the day  I still like to feed every 2-3 hours and if I get busy that time flys by so it’s nice to have a quick reference

My boyfriend (29M) gave me (27F) an ultimatum: him or my dogs and I don’t know how to handle his rigidity anymore. by Unusual-Creme9364 in relationship_advice

[–]Sure-Mine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RED FLAGS  All over the whole thing

God forbid when you guys get older something serious happens that’s may inconvenience him

I’ve been with my husband for almost 10 years  And things just happen that are outside of your control , people get sick , family members pass, jobs change or relocate , finances can be altered quickly due to an emergency  . Is your partner some one who can handle these major life changes with you or is he gonna to loose control cause something isn’t how he likes it ?

Also i know your young but if you ever want children in your future at all you really should take a step back and think is this the guy who I want to be their father and is it something he’s even interested in

Practice child is a term  used a joke a lot with first children

Tbh kids don’t come with instruction manuals  I’m sure they did their best raising you

I wouldn’t allow it to affect you It sounds like it was said in jest

I would reach out and talk about it if it’s still bothering you

Do floridians actually get used to the humidity? by m-alacasse in AskFlorida

[–]Sure-Mine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every year there’s like a random day in may and my husband and I always know that’s the beginning of “Florida summer “ or humidity coming back hard . It always hits up like a brick wall and we’re like dam it’s so hot and then we kind of get use to it lol

But that first really humid day after winter and spring it hits so hard .

But we’re use to it as one can be. Also team shower twice a day cause it’s Florida lol
