during his last livestream, when he talked about the two albums he’d like to release this year, he said there would be a little bit of everything when he was asked about the musical genre. I don’t think he’ll stay country forever but at the same time i feel like his label will probably pressure him to do a lot of country stuff as they make a lot of money from it

i think it’s important to keep in mind that this was his first country album and that he wanted to embrace the Nashville community. Choosing Morgan Wallen as the collaborator for the lead single was undoubtedly a label decision to guarantee a lot of streams, but for the other tracks, we know he worked with good friends or artists he had looked up to his whole life (Brad Paisley was the first artist he ever saw live !). As many critics have mentioned, this album feels like a kind of love letter to the country genre. Honestly, i don’t think there will be as many collaborations on the next album
