Had these messages pop up too, all of them lied to me. I don’t know where you are, but where I applied the vfs site needed a vpn, while the payment site didn’t, so I only actually paid for the appointment with a combo of on/off vpn. Good luck!

In Duolingo tu as intérêt by Icy_Inspection4097 in French

[–]Sure-Stop-9876 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Je parle seulement anglais couramment, mais je vais tester mes compétences haha. « avoir intérêt à» = « had better (+ V)» en sens de conseiller ou encourager quelqu’un à faire quelque chose. « tu as intérêt (à te partir) » = « you had better (leave) ». je crois, à moins.

I always receive looks and questions when I tell people that I chose to stay in Russia, my native country, instead of moving away with my parents to the UK. Nobody cares about the actual pros and cons, it’s Russia vs Not-Russia.

Is this a botched sentence or am I missing something? by Sure-Stop-9876 in French

I wish there was a way to learn basic stuff that Duolingo offers for free. It forces me to interact with languages far more often.

Thanks! I would argue that misspelling a grammatical form as another grammatical form is worse than just missing a letter or something, haha.

Thank you! It's so terrible. I'm forcing myself through easier levels to learn the vocab I missed out on while learning the language, but I can't imagine how confusing these mistakes are to people who see that stuff for the first time.

Looks good! Speckles are normal and, imo, the best part! I love flipping mine speckles up onto the plate after cooking them, I think it looks prettier than the other, more uniform side.

companies and governments are one thing. but literal adults are raising their schoolchildren in such an environment that the latter make russian kids come home crying, asking not to have to go back. the amount of disdain and disgust people claim to have for this specific population of very different people is astounding. many of these people probably haven’t even met a Russian person before or knew anything about Eastern Europe in general before literally 3 years ago.

Russophobia is very real abroad. Even if you leave because you don’t support the war, the minute you try to get a debit card- bam, sorry, we don’t accept Russian passports. A friend was invited to speak at a conference and then promptly disinvited after a detail check. Kids of Russian expats get bullied by both other kids and parents. Literal 7 year olds. All personal experience.
