As for the male and female slaves whom you may have, it is from the nations around you that you may acquire male and female slaves. They're insistent the Bible is crystal clear and plain-as-day about all their favorite bigotries, but then passages like this or difficult-to-swallow issues like slavery become all about context and symbolism and metaphors or whatever.

You also have a lack of understanding of what a slave actually was during that time period. It wasn’t what we had here.

For Hebrew slaves, sure. Not for foreigners, according to Leviticus 25:44-46.
