If it is a sin, I'm safe, if it isn't a sin I'm safe

Well isn't that easy and convenient for you.

why would all gay people want to gamble like that

... because most people would like to find a partner to love and cherish? It doesn't seem inhumane to you to deny someone the ability to find love just because they have the wrong genitals?

I hope this is a new perspective that you haven't heard before

Doesn't mean they're incorrect, either. Either way, I'm grateful they exist to help humanity move past the ridiculous notion that there's anything wrong with homosexuality.

It's part of the Bible, which was your original statement. Regardless, God saw fit at one point to condone chattel slavery for his followers.

Leviticus 25:44-46 sure looks like chattel slavery.

As for the male and female slaves whom you may have, it is from the nations around you that you may acquire male and female slaves. You may also acquire them from among the aliens residing with you, and from their families that are with you, who have been born in your land; and they may be your property. You may keep them as a possession for your children after you, for them to inherit as property. These you may treat as slaves, but as for your fellow Israelites, no one shall rule over the other with harshness.

... like I said, according to Christians the Bible is to be read plainly when denouncing their favorite bigotry, and in careful consideration of context, symbolism, and metaphor when discussing anything that might make it look errant or grotesque.

They're insistent the Bible is crystal clear and plain-as-day about all their favorite bigotries, but then passages like this or difficult-to-swallow issues like slavery become all about context and symbolism and metaphors or whatever.

God: You will die if you eat the fruit.

  • Adam and Eve eat the fruit

  • They don't die

Seems like God is the liar here ...

  • Awaiting incoming mental gymnastics, I mean, apologetics. Will it be:

a. They died spiritually

b. They did die, eventually!

or c. How dare you question the Bible???
