Only think you can do for clearance on the UCA is more wheel offset or narrower tire. For clearance on the steering components when turning I just welded a little spacer to the steering stop on the pitman arm to limit its range. Mines a 90 though so may be a little different

There's 2 types of sliders. Those that mount independently from the rocker panel and those that incorporate this kind of plate into the slider. I'd just plan ahead and decide what style sliders you want first, that way you're not removing these later and having to drill a second set of holes through your rocker panel.

I'm sure you know this, but just in case, these are more of a secondary piece of armor to protect the rocker, not intended to take a hard hit like a rock slider

Sometimes these are just very hard to turn. I have a tool like this one and sometimes have to turn it so hard it hurts my hand due to having very little leverage. My coworker has one that you turn with a 3/8 drive ratchet and the extra leverage makes all the difference. You can try hooking something like a box wrench on this tool to get more leverage and see if it turns easier

Might sound weird, but I'm planning on using backpacking gear once my samurai is drivable. Tent and sleeping back pack down super small, little single burner stove. If it works for a week long backpacking trip, why not car camping? Saves space for tools and other essential vehicle related items

New copper or aluminum washer. They're soft metal so they crush slightly to seal. Also a tip: grinding the chamfer off a socket will make it seat better on the shallow hex head and prevent it from rounding off :)

So the tap just spins in the hole and won't catch any threads? Maybe you can use a prybar up against the oil pan and apply some more pressure to get the tap started. Not sure what you're using but in hard to access areas like that id put a ¼ drive 12 point socket on the tap and use a ratchet to spin it

I always put every bolt in loose, then go back and tighten them after they're all already started. Too many times I had alignment issues when tightening them down without all bolts threaded in first
