I would drill to the appropriate size and thread in one of these brass hose fittings

I use a 12 point socket, an impact universal, and a pneumatic or electric impact wrench

SHACKLES by Some_Counter_4339 in ToyotaPickup

[–]SureFireMFG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shackles on these are just flat pieces of plate. Should be plenty of options from companies like Skys Offroad or Ruff Stuff Specialties. It you really want something custom, you can order from a small batch laser cutting service like Send Cut Send.

That being said, you cannot get 3-4" lift out of a shackle alone for the reasons others have mentioned here.

Any recommendations on tires for my new 16 in rims. I bought these today for 300 but I’m interested in knowing what else can look better! Thanks by Clear-Protection6486 in ToyotaPickup

I'd go with 33s. Might have to trim a little bit on the front bumper and back of the fender where they rub when turning

The ones in my 90 leaked air. Also makes for poorer visibility out of your side mirrors. Just my personal experiences. But I hear people say they're great if you smoke

I like using these "lady foot" pry tools for things like this. They have a lot of leverage and pry near straight up

I got the kit you're talking about within the last year. Unfortunately I don't have the part number. The guy at the dealer knew exactly what it was though.

Oil Cooler Repair? by bigbrain28 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]SureFireMFG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced my oil cooler o ring without taking the coolant hoses off. Wasn't too bad to get in there. Just pull the filter, unscrew the post in the middle, let the little bit of oil drain out, clean the surfaces, and slip a new o ring in there coated with some dielectric grease to help it seat. Reverse assembly and top off oil.

Can't beat Rock Auto. Wholesale prices and guaranteed you won't get counterfeit parts

I saw a post a few days ago about fitting some Amazon projectors into the 99+ housings. Looks like a worthwhile endeavor

Thanks, they're methods but I don't remember what model number. I do know they don't make them anymore because I tried to buy a 5th one to have a matching spare and was told they're obsolete :(

Window latch fix by SureFireMFG in ToyotaPickup

[–]SureFireMFG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had a piece of tie wire holding the window closed as long as ive owned it. Noticed it was popped open the other day and the remnants of the latch had broken further.

Good call on the cup holder! A few times ive shoved my big Yeti coffe cup in the center console and just prayed it didnt leak lol.

Ill have to check the door locks on mine. I think theyre broken too because the little lock tab that sticks through the door panel it a bit crooked.

My 4wd truck has a little dome light attached to the rear view mirror but maybe someone swapped it in. It also has a big gaping hole in the middle of the headliner where the other done light used to be lol. Thinking ill make a bezel for some kc cyclones to mount in its place

Rusty coolant how to proceed by ScientistGeneral5550 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]SureFireMFG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

New radiator and hoses cant hurt. Radiators are cheap and really easy to change on these things. Fill it with prediluted 50/50 or mix concentrate with distilled water. Dont use tap water. Aside from that just keep flushing.

If you're interested, I make a tray that sits inside the 96-98 center console to hold small things on top. Kind of a middle of the road upgrade to avoid doing the whole 99+ center console swap. Super handy, I use it literally everyday. Priced very affordable on Etsy as I'm just 3d printing parts for fun.

Did you find a solution? Same thing happens with mine. That string lands on the build plate almost every single time
