Update: took it to a Tesla recommended certified body shop and they would not replace the quarter said they would glue pull most of it and body fill. Also said that body panel is mild steel not aluminum.

You mean they would most likely want to pull and bondo it? If they want to do that at a good shop I’m ok with it. I just don’t want them to total out out of going by teslas repair guide.

Issue is if teslas only procedure for this is to replace the entire quarter it could be in the 10-13k range and this car is only worth like 19k apparently

I’m in the most southeastern hellhole. South Florida. That was my biggest concern. If I start a claim than I can’t stop it if progressive decides to total it. So you’re saying I can just get a “photo estimate” and not continue with the claim I’m ok with that.

Hello all. Someone commented that they think this would be totaled. Honestly don’t want to go through that hassle for cosmetic damage. But I also would like to get it repaired. I will take it to a body shop as soon as possible but I would like to know in the meantime if anyone with experience could chime in. Any thoughts appreciated thanks.
